Shin Megami Tensei Ports to be Announced for Xbox, Switch, and PC in May – Rumour

Fans of Atlus’ franchise have frequently bemoaned how the developer has handled its series’ releases, often limiting them to single platforms, but as evidenced by recent Persona releases, the developer is clearly stepping into the multiplatform arena. Interestingly enough, it seems like Shin Megami Tensei may be able to follow suit in the near future as well.

That’s as per a rumour originating on 4chan (via Reddit), which has seemingly leaked an image that seems to be confirming upcoming releases for multiple Shin Megami Tensei games on Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. One of these is Shin Megami Tensei 5, which released for the Nintendo Switch in November 2021, and is allegedly headed to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, and Game Pass.

Then there’s Shin Megami Tensei 4 and its direct sequel Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse, both of which originally launched for the 3DS and are, according to the leak, coming to the aforementioned platforms and Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD, which launched for PS4, Switch, and PC in 2021, is also allegedly coming to Xbox.

The leak claims that all of these announcements will be made on May 6, which is when Atlus will be celebrating the series’ 30th anniversary. Curiously, there’s no mention of PlayStation releases for any of the titles (barring SMT 3, which is already on PS4).

As is always the case with any unverified rumour, we’d take this with a grain of salt for now. We’ll keep an eye out for new details though, so stay tuned for more updates.

The next installment in the JRPG Megami Tensei has yet to be announced for a western release, but that doesn’t stop you from enjoying this brand new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei 4 courtesy of Atlus.

A proficiency in Japanese will also come in handy. For the others, well, the gameplay does look pretty. Running in at over 5 minutes, the trailer gives us a brief glimpse at the many characters, as well as the combat and exploration mechanics.

A western release is most likely on the cards, so you’ll have to do with these appetizers. Patience is a virtue.

Shin Megami Tensei 4 3DS Trailer brings the awesomeness

Check out the leaked trailer for Shin Megami Tensei 4 which shows some amazing environments and cool graphics. Considering it is the 3DS version, the game looks quite competent and will be released next year.

The game was revealed in Famitsu last month and will release exclusively on the 3DS. The last mainline Shin Megami Tensei game was Nocturne for the PS2 back in 2004. So it has been a long time and developer and publisher Atlus hasn’t announced the release date yet.

Atlus announced Shin Megami Tensei 4 for 3DS

In a move that will no doubt take many of you by surprise, Atlus has announced Shin Megami Tensei 4 for the 3DS.

The site for the game will be called megaten4.jp and will be opened tomorrow, according to a translation by Sinobi, who usually gets the Famitsu magazine earlier. We will get more information soon once the site is up.

It’s a bit sad to see the Vita being ignored, but considering the paltry install base right now for the handheld, this is the treatment it will get from third-parties. Even the 3DS did, but Nintendo managed to change it around.

We have an ad for the game, which we have posted above, and that’s all we have on the game so far. 3DS fans should no doubt be pleased with this outcome.
