The standard edition will be available for $38.99 USD, while the Digital Deluxe Edition will hit for $74.99. Are you going to check the game out? Let us know in the comments below.

The next bit of DLC for Sledgehammer Games’ extremely successful Call of Duty: WW2 will be The War Machine. We’ve known this for a while, because it was originally leaked on the PSN Store, and then officially confirmed by Activision shortly afterwards.

What we haven’t known is what the new additions that this DLC pack, which will be adding new War Mode and multiplayer maps, as well as appendices to the Zombies mode, will look like. That all changes now, because the very first trailer for the DLC pack The War Machine is now available. You can check it out for yourself below.

The War Machine will be the second DLC pack for Call of Duty: WW2, and will be launching first on PlayStation 4, with a release on PC and Xbox One coming 30 days afterward. Call of Duty: WW2 itself, meanwhile, is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Call of Duty: WW2, Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty game from last year, that went back to the series’ roots by taking us back to the Second World War, is soon going to be getting its very first DLC. The map pack will be called The Resistance, and it will be bringing quite a bit to the game.

That includes three new multiplayer maps, a new war mission, and of course, a brand new mission for the game’s popular Zombies mode. You can check out glimpses of what this new DLC pack is promising to bring to the game for yourself in the trailer for it that just launched today.

The Resistance is the first DLC pack for WW2. It is going to be launching on January 30, exclusively on the PS4. PC and Xbox One players won’t have to wait long, however, and will be able to play the DLC for themselves 30 days afterwards.

Activision and Sledgehammer Games have shared a brand new trailer for Call of Duty: WW2, the back to its roots Call of Duty game they released last year to immense commercial success. The new trailer focuses on The Darkest Shore, an upcoming intended expansion for the Zombies mode.

The expansion will be a part of “The Resistance: DLC Pack 1″, the first DLC pack for the game that is due to launch at the end of this month for the PS4 (and next month for PC and Xbox One, thanks to Sony’s deal for one month exclusivity for all Call of Duty DLC). It seems like this will continue the tradition of Zombie content single handedly being worth the DLC’s asking price, at any rate.

You can check out the trailer for yourself below, and let us know what you think. Call of Duty: WW2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

If you’re playing Call of Duty: WW2– and managed to work your way through the utter mess and disaster that is the game’s online functionality right now- then, good news! You can now get double XP for playing the game’s multiplayer modes! Rejoice!

The double XP weekend stars now, and as long as you play the game through Monday, Nov. 13 at 10AM PT, you will get double the XP you otherwise would have. It’s an easy way to level up, and begin to work your way to that first Prestige. The level cap is 55- so you’re going to need all the help you can get for it, too. Plus, of course, you can Prestige 10 times over.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s the first Call of Duty game set in the conflict that the series started out depicting in the first place in 10 years.

Some tech tips for the PC version of Call of Duty: WW2.

Call of Duty: WW2 is actually one of the best PC versions a Call of Duty game has had in a while- but there are still certain issues that players of the game on PC are reporting. This mostly owes itself to PCs being so many in number of configurations- developers obviously can’t account for all of them.

If you find yourself running into some of these issues, we are here to help, because we will walk you through some of the most common errors people are running into with this game on PC, and their fixes. But first, the specs:

Minimum:

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later

CPU: CPU: Intel Core i3 3225 3.3 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1400

RAM: 8GB RAM

HDD: 90GB HD space

Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 @ 2 GB / GTX 1050 or ATI Radeon HD 7850 @ 2GB / AMD RX 550

DirectX: Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent
Network: Broadband Internet connection

Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Recommended:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD Ryzen R5 1600X

RAM: 12GB RAM

HDD: 90GB HD space

Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 / GTX 1060 @ 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580

DirectX: Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent

Network: Broadband Internet connection

Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Please be advised that the following methods are to be used at the sole discretion of the system owner. GamingBolt or its staff members take no responsibility for problems that may arise or issues that may occur from trying the below. Always remember that official support is always the best support.

GENERAL FIXES

Generally speaking, some basic troubleshooting tips should always help you resolve whatever issue you are facing with the PC version of any game. If you are running into problems, maybe first attempt the following steps, and if they don’t work out, look into some of the more specific fixes we have below.

Make sure the drivers on your PC are updated

If you have two GPUs, make sure you are using the discrete GPU instead of the integrated one

Set Call of Duty‘s priority to High in the Task Manager Turn off any background programs, including firewalls, chat clients, video recorders, and overlays

Try lowering visual settings on the game to see if that improves game performance

Make sure you have Windows updated before you attempt to play Call of Duty.

s2_sp64_ship.exe Crash Error

Update your Windows build. Really, that’s the only advice I have for this one.

Multi-Monitor Issue

This error makes the game only run on the secondary screen. The fix is simple- run the game in full screen by going to Video Settings, Alt-Enter to reduce the game into a window, drag it on to the primary screen, then maximize

Screen Flickering

Yep, you guessed it. Windowed mode. An official fix may come later- meanwhile, just putting it in borderless windowed mode might be a roundabout fix.

Note: Given that the wide range of PC hardware out there, the fixes mentioned here may or may not work for you. But it’s worth giving them a shot since these have worked for players who own the PC version of the game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has a map in the multiplayer mode, Atlas Gorge, which is a remake of the popular Pipeline map from the 2007 hit Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This remade map has so far been available only to people who bought either the game’s Season Pass, or any of the various Collector’s Editions- however, Sledgehammer announced today on Twitter that it is going to be made available for free to all players.

This change is available on all platforms- meaning Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC players alike should be able to play on the new map for free. The exact reason for this change is unknown, but the change is appreciated regardless. Maybe it has something to do with trying to create awareness for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which is due out later this year?

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was the firts game in the franchise developed by Sledgehammer Games. it is out now on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.

Starting Tuesday, June 9, Sledgehammer will be implementing a few changes to how loot works in last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The bulk of these changes will be via the two new rarities will be introduced, Legendary and Retired. Legendary Gear will have to be earned via Supply Drops and Advanced Supply Drops, and will be highlighted in purple when found. The first of these will be the Sentinel CI Gear Set, which will only be awarded to the first player to reach Grand Master Prestige.

Retired, on the other hand, will be exactly what its name implies- decommissioned items that were previously in circulation, but no longer are. You won’t lose them if you already have them, but you can’t find them dropped any more.

As with all Call of Duty updates, this one will be coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One first too. PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC are anticipated to get it later. Stay tuned.

If you are buying the Xbox One version of Activision and Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare digitally, then you will be pleased to know that the game’s files are now available to pre-load on your console starting today. Pre-loading your game will let you avoid the server stress on launch day, as loads of players inundate Xbox Live not just to download the game for themselves, but also to play games online. This means you can be all set and ready to go the minute the game officially launches in November.

It’s just as well you get to download the game ahead of time, as it is a staggering 45.84GB large- meaning it will definitely take a good while to download.

The game is also available to download on Xbox live starting today, for the standard $60 price; to sweeten the deal, though, Activision will be early access to the game on November 3, and they will also be offering double XP on that day.

You. Play. Your Way.

With the start of each and every year I’ve become fairly acceptable to the idea of annual game releases. So long as they’re actually doing new things and not just recycling on the hopes that fans will just buy the game, down to blinded loyalty and a false sense of new experiences thanks to a higher pixel count. And while many would argue that Call of Duty does just that, I have two responses to that.

First off all, you are wrong. I just want you to know that. But the second and more sensible response I have is that, it’s wise to take note of an old saying. It’s one that’s changed the world, enhanced common-sense, and it’s empowered the ignorant. And it’s something along the lines of…“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. And it’s this, exactly this! which makes the Call of Duty series a staple and a prominent figure within the current and previous generation of gaming.

Now…while I’m not the biggest Call of Duty fan in the world I do however enjoy the games. And I’m probably one of the only fifty odd people in the world that actually cares about the single-player campaign, and doesn’t dive head first in multi-player to waste away ten hours of well deserved REM-sleep in place of a fifty-kill headshot count and an over-saturated leaderboard.

""If it ain't broke, don't fix it""

Call of Duty has built its popularity, it’s rightfully deserved attention, and it’s insane number of fans, on what I would describe as it’s three stable pillars of persistence. The first of which would be solid controls and game mechanics. These allow the game to be an easy to pick up and play title that’s simple to grasp, but contains a slight a learning curve to advance. The second of which is an innovative multiplayer.

As said previously many would argue that Call of Duty has a recycled experience to it regardless of when or where the current game happens to be set, within the theme of its world. I disagree with this to some extent, I agree that Call of Duty does recycle yes. But it recycles what’s good about the series in order to remain familiar to veterans of the series, while adding a breath of new ideas and game modes in order to remain fresh and to constantly bring something new to the table that players have yet to experience.

The only thing that Call of Duty actually does seem to recycle is it’s control-scheme and gameplay mechanics. And this is the one thing that other first-person-shooters fail to get right the majority of the time, which in turn leads to a convoluted and over complex button layout, that can be off-putting for people to experience or become comfortable with. Regardless of how the game is experienced, be that a mouse and keyboard or to that of a gamepad, Call of Duty is consistent when it comes down to its control scheme even when adding new features and controls.

" The first of which would be solid controls and game mechanics. These allow the game to be an easy to pick up and play title that's simple to grasp, but contains a slight a learning curve to advance."

The third and final pillar that makes the series such an addictive and enjoyable experience is something that should rightfully be a norm at this point. But since prettier visuals and higher pixel counts apparently amount to the overall enjoyability as well as the re-playability of a game these days, I guess the actual functioning and playability isn’t an important factor any more.

Frame-rate! yes the frame-rate! Call of Duty has always aimed and met a sixty frames-per-second target and because of this the game feels smooth and responsive to play, is visually pleasing on the eyes, and never feels slow or sluggish which in-turn can lead to input lag, as seen with other first-person-shooter titles that rival against this series.

Call of Duty has always prioritized the playability of the game before considering the amount of pixels in the game. And while visuals are without a doubt an important factor to a game there’s a strong reason why Call of Duty has such a large fan-base that all deliver the same response as to why they enjoy the game so much. Fluidity and fast paced tight controls. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare continues the tradition while adding a new layer of depth and new features to game, which elevates it to an entire new level through ways that other first-person-shooters fail drastically to do so.

This is a new console generation, it’s also a new year. This means we can expect a new Call of Duty game and that means fan expectations are high for what the team over at SledgeHammer Games are going to have to bring to the table. During my time with the game and through an interview with Glen Schofield, co founder of SledgeHammer Games. I was given an in-depth look at the game as well as my own personal hands-on time with it, as to what new content and features we can hope to experience from the studios’ newest game.

" This means we can expect a new Call of Duty game and that means fan expectations are high for what the team over at SledgeHammer Games are going to bring to the table."

Just by observing the game through trailers, posters, screenshots and the like. Advanced Warfare is best described on the visual surface as Matt Damon’s Elysium meets Crysis and Modern Warfare 3. And if you take everything that’s good about all three of those titles, turn ’em up by a factor of ten, and think back to how each of those titles succeeded on delivered a feeling of power towards their central characters. Then you’ve basically got Advanced Warfare…
…And let’s not forget Kevin Spacey.

Developing Advanced Warfare on a three year development cycle along with a new game engine, has clearly paid off in delivering a game that’s visually stunning as well as being a joy to experience that still feels familiar while remaining fresh. As said by Glen Schofield, there was an extreme amount of focus dedicated to the narrative of the game. While past Call of Duty titles have contained their own stories it’s best said that none of these have ever really felt consistent or ever been a central focus as to why fans pick up the game.

Advanced Warfare seeks to rectify this by making the player feel engaged through the game’s main protagonist, Private Mitchell. From what’s been revealed about the game Private Mitchell’s life including his back story and friendships will play a significant role in telling a meaningful story. The story itself is said to be inspired by popular characters of TV and film.

" Advanced Warfare is best described on the visual surface as Matt Damon's Elysium meets Crysis and Modern Warfare 3."

Along with the concentration being given to the main protagonist and the game’s story, there’s also an insane amount of attention being given to the game’s multiplayer portion. And not just in terms of map size and choices for battle but also in the way that player customization works in combination with both multi-player and single-player. The four most important words being given to the player before going into battle here is You. Play. Your Way.

This is highly obvious when heading into the customization section of the game’s multi-player, which is the first thing I experienced as well as being of the most interest to me. The customization section of the game feels highly revamped in many ways to prior games. Much of what the player is able to do feels and looks vastly different in both navigation and the way in which the game displays each of its choices for the player to tweak.

The Exosuit which is as much its own weapon as well as being a mobile vehicle, allows the player to move faster and slicker than ever. Being able to double-jump through the use of jet-pack style boosting, floor-sliding, dodging, and air slamming all do well in delivering a real sense of power and speed, that aids in the way players will traverse the landscape.

" Much of what the player is able to do feels and looks vastly different in both navigation and the way in which the game displays each of its choices for the player."

Along with many different options for other Exosuit abilities such as an invisible cloak, hovering in mid-air, grappling hooks, and a wrist mounted shield, this ties directly back in to how the game’s level design has also changed in order to suit the way in which players will move throughout the level. Maps now have design layouts that are larger, more keen to verticality, and include environmental specific effects that reform the battle grounds which the player will have to adapt to.

Inspired by the Pick 10 system of Call of Duty: Black Ops, Advanced Warfare jacks this up a notch with Pick 13. For those familiar with how the system works with custom loadouts and allocating points to enhance the use and features of their weapons in certain situations, Pick 13 does this all. It just does it better by incorporating the Exosuit and supercharged weapons, that still remain balanced as well as have many options to to play with. A virtual lobby system has also been integrated which allows players to view their team mate’s weapons and Exosuit choices while they adjust their own before heading in to an online game.

Further adjustments that can be made to the Exosuit and weapons have all taken a futuristic route in the way they function and visually look. The usual choice for perks, attachments, and gadgets make a return but all in the theme of Advanced Warfare’s take on future military weaponary. Tracking drones and threat grenades that scan out the player’s environment and highlight all nearby threats in a glowing red aura, so that areas for cover and sections for camping completely change the way in how the game could play out.

" A virtual lobby system has also been integrated which allows players to view their team mates weapon and Exosuit choices while they adjust their own."

Along with completely new weapons such as a high-powered shotgun that sends out a repulsion-style wave, and a choice of dual-wielded pistols that feel like actual weapons of power, rather than a last resort once you’re ammo’s reached a critical state with your primary weapon, finally feel great to use. A new game mode for Co-op gameplay has been integrated similar to the survival and spec-ops modes from Modern Warfare 3.

Titled Exo-Survival this new gameplay mode takes everything that was introduced in the iteration of Modern Warfare 3 while adding new elements that are better well suited for the abilities and manoeuvrability of the Exosuit. Wave based A.I. battles, objective based rounds, two to four player options for gameplay, environmental weapons such as turrets and drones. Exo-Survival mode appears to be packed to the brimmed with choices for gameplay outside of the single-player campaign and the traditional multi-player format.

Another interesting feature of the game which added a deeper sense of immersion to the gameplay was the removal of the HUD (heads up display). Everything that the player now sees is directly in with what the character sees and this makes sense in delivering a more in-depth feeling to its world. Ammo count is now allocated to player’s weapon through an attached screen on the player’s weapons, and objectives and way-points are told through NPC’s voice communication and holographic displays being transmitted to the character through an on-screen mini display.
The overall sense of a blockbuster movie meets a triple-A video game through it’s character interactions and story telling is more prominent than ever. This time round however it appears more natural, with its cut-scenes occurring less and transitioning more in to actual gameplay. Natural is the word here and from what was shown of the single-player campaign, the inspiration behind TV and film is evident.

With everything from the weapon customization, Exosuit abilities, a significant visual upgrade, and a strong focus on delivering a compelling single-player campaign Advanced Warfare looks very promising. Launching in just under five weeks from now, GamingBolt will have more coverage on this title including all the new features and gameplay elements that will be revealed over time.
