PS4 players get Rabbids: Party of Legends and PHOGS, while those on PS5 get exclusive access to Luminous Productions’ Forspoken. Meanwhile, Premium subscribers can look forward to playing Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy on PS5 and PS4, while PlayStation VR2 gets Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge.

All Classic titles sport rewind, custom filters, up-rendering and rewind functions, making it the best time to experience them. As for December’s PlayStation Plus Essential titles, head here for more details. They’re available until January 6th, 2025.

It Takes Two and Aliens: Dark Descent are playable on PS4 and PS5. The former is an award-winning split-screen co-op title where Cody and May must resolve their marriage problems after being transformed into dolls. It offers a range of mini-games and platforming challenges to complete.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a squad-based real-time strategy title where players must lead some Colonial Marines on the moon, Lethe, as they combat Xenomorphs and attempt to survive. Temtem is playable exclusive on PS5 and offers a 3D creature collector set on the Airborne Archipelago. There are various species to collect and battle with as players embark on an adventure to defeat the eight DojoLeaders.

Sony has also confirmed the first classic titles joining PlayStation Plus Premium starting December 10th. These include Sucker Punch’s Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Naughty Dog’s Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy will also be available. Stay tuned for more details on all the titles coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in the coming weeks.

Bathhouse – Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Of the many places that Sam Fisher has infiltrated, you wouldn’t think a bathhouse in Tokyo would provide many challenges. Nevertheless, Chaos Theory’s Bathhouse mission, which involves gaining entry into the location and discovering Douglas Shetland’s contact, is surprisingly tense. After Fisher eavesdrops on the conversation, he’ll then need to survive a battle between the I-SDF and mercenaries before subsequently neutralizing Shetland’s bombs. On the plus side, at least the player can decide to stab or throw Shetland off the roof instead of shooting him since Sam finds it more courteous (we think).

The Bank Job – Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

One of the best missions in the game by a country mile, The Bank Job sees Billie Lurk sneaking into the Dolores Michaels Deposit & Loan Bank to retrieve the Twin-bladed Knife. Entry points include via the roof (and some laudanum), through the sewers or by trash disposal. There are multiple ways to access the vault, like releasing the brakes and causing it to crash all the way down the sewers which also conveniently acts as an escape route. It’s ingenuous and a pinnacle of immersive sim gameplay.

Voice actor Rick May, known for his role as Team Fortress 2’s Soldier and for playing Peppy in Star Fox 64, has passed away. May suffered a stroke this past February and contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus while in rehabilitation. He would pass away from the disease at the age of 79 years.

The Rekindle School reported on May’s passing here, though access to the site is currently limited. May was a teacher at the school and along with being a voice actor, worked at the Renton Civic Theater and Civic Light Opera. He also appeared in a number of different shows like Death of a Salesman, Fiddler on the Roof and so on.

Though May is most iconic for his role as the Soldier in Valve’s team-based shooter, he’s also known for the “Do a barrel roll” line from Star Fox 64 (and voicing Andross as well). Other credits include Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition. Our condolences go out to his family and friends who are coping with this tragic loss.

The End – Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

The End has all the time in the world. He sits back and snipes you quickly and quietly. But each time you find him, a new stage of the battle begins. It is a battle of attrition, slowly wearing him down and cornering him. He is a fantastic boss, so the variety in the battle is fantastic, especially near the end when things begin to heat up. Furthermore, he consistently shifts his location and uses camouflage to take you down.
