If multiple PSN accounts access the same game, progress won't be saved.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has a new save game bug and thankfully, Konami is at least aware of as much. GameSpot reports that the bug occurs for users with multiple Sony Entertainment Network accounts – if you and another person play the same game but with different PSN accounts, there will be issues when it comes to saving.

The error states that, “This save data cannot be used, as the relevant downloadable content was not found.” A fix is currently in the works but for now, it’s recommended that players stick to a single account to avoid any issues.

This isn’t the first save error bug that the game has encountered. There was originally an issue that occurred during certain missions when you have Quiet as a buddy. It’s since been patched by Konami.

What are your thoughts on this save issue and have you run into it yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned for any updates on fixes in the coming weeks.

More than 52 million PSN and SEN users worldwide.

Sony boss Kaz Hirai recently revealed that half of all PlayStation 4 users worldwide are registered to PlayStation Plus (with reportedly more than 7 million consoles having been sold worldwide since the console’s launch). Total number of active PSN and SEN users is also apparently more than 52 million users worldwide.

Hirai also spoke about the $1.2 billion that Sony posted recently and stated that, “As explained at last week’s earnings announcement, we recorded a substantial net loss for the 2013 fiscal year. Looking to fiscal 2014, due to the delayed recovery of our electronics business, and the continuation of our comprehensive restructuring program, we are again anticipating a net loss, of 50 billion yen.

“When I was appointed president, I made revitalizing the electronics business my highest priority, and we have since executed many initiatives. Yet, while the Entertainment and Financial Services businesses posted results that met or exceeded our projections last year, I am extremely disappointed that we have not been able to complete our electronics turnaround.

“In particular the fact that we have recorded a net loss for two successive years is something I take very seriously, and being unable to meet the expectations our stakeholders is something I deeply regret.”

Nonetheless, the PlayStation 4 is charting greater sales numbers than the Xbox One with E3 2014 right around the corner. Stay tuned for more information as the expo arrives.

Uh, so, Sony is going to change the name of PSN, to SEN – which stands for Sony Entertainment Network. They are sending mails to users informing them of this change.

You will not be required to do anything, as the name change will be seamless. Although, you will be required to accept the new TOS for singing in to SEN.

This is what they’re sending users:

On February 8, 2012, your “PlayStation®Network account” will be renamed a “Sony Entertainment Network account” or a “SEN account” in conjunction with Sony Computer Entertainment’s PlayStation®3 system software and PlayStation®Vita system software updates. (Note, this change will not be applied to the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system at this time.)

For general purposes, this account change is a change in name only. Your username or password will not change, nor are we asking you to change them. In accordance with this transition, some necessary naming changes will be made to the TOS and Privacy Policy.

This transition is based on Sony’s goal to enhance its unique digital entertainment offering. As a series of these activities Sony started last September, PlayStation®Network will be aligned with “Sony Entertainment Network.” This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.

Thank you for your continued loyalty and support during this transition.

Sincerely,

The Sony Entertainment Network Team
