With a Metascore of 95, Sony Santa Monica’s triumphant reboot and reimagining of the God of War series on the PS4 has now become the highest rated PS4 exclusive of all time. In the process, it has trounced Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Bloodborne, The Last of Us: Remastered, and Persona 5.

Notably, it is also now the second highest rated game Sony has put out ever, with only Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves rated higher than it with a Metascore of 96. It is also the highest rated non-Nintendo game of the generation (with Metascores of 97, Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey hold the #1 and #2 spots respectively).

In spite of all that, however, it’s not the highest rated PS4 game ever- GTA5‘s PS4 remaster holds that crown, with a Metascore also of 97. While reaching a score of 97 seems unlikely for God of War, at the very least, it could still end up reaching a 96, and overthrowing Uncharted 2, if nothing else. God of War launches this Friday on PS4.
