Confirmed: Call of Duty Ghosts Will Have Spec Ops Style Mode

Despite being popular for its multiplayer mode, there is a dedicated contingent of gamers who also enjoy the single-player mode of Call of Duty (yes, seriously). To further that experience and allow for co-op play, Infinity Ward introduced Spec Ops with Modern Warfare 2, which evolved into Spec Ops Survival for Modern Warfare 3 – a venerable Horde mode of sorts.

Will it make a return in Call of Duty: Ghosts? Community coordinator Candice Capen tweeted that a co-op mode was in the works. Of course, when that announcement could come about isn’t yet known.

Call of Duty: Ghosts features a brand new storyline, in which the remnants of US Special Forces band together to fight off oppressive super-powers in the American wasteland. It will release on November 5th 2013 for Xbox 360, PC, PS3 and Wii U with a release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to be announced.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Final Round of Content Collections Dated

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be seeing it’s final round of content collections by September. Activision recently announced that the Chaos Pack and Final Assault collections are set for release on August 9 and September 6 respectively for XBox 360.

Chaos Pack, will introduce gamers to the brand new mode to Spec Ops called Chaos besides 3 new Face Off Maps (Vortex, U-Turn and Intersection) and 4 new Spec Ops Missions (Vertigo, Arctic Recon, Light ‘Em Up and Special Delivery). Chaos mode entails outlasting enemies while chaining kills and power-ups for a high score.

Final Assault, on the other hand, offers 5 new multiplayer maps: “Gulch”, a mining town; “Boardwalk”, a beach level; “Offshore”, taking place on oil rigs; “Decommission” set on ocean liners; and “Parish” where players battle in the remains of the city.

It’s a good preparation for the oncoming torrent that is Black Ops 2, where Treyarch once again shines. More feedback on the content collections as they arrive.

Check out this new video from Activision that shows multiplayer gameplay and Spec Ops footage. It is being named as Survival mode. The game releases on November 8th for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
