The Sleeping Dogs demo offers gamers a chance to sample some of the stand-out Arkham-esque gameplay, making Sleeping Dogs one of the best titles of the summer. Developed by United Front Games in collaboration with Square Enix London Studios, Sleeping Dogs has received wide critical acclaim from other publications too, so we’re not alone in our glowing praise.

The action-packed demo allows players a chance to jump right into the action and get extensive hands-on with Wei’s brutal martial arts skills as he chases down a rival gang member muscling-in on his Triad turf. Gameplay unfolds as Wei pursues his target through the bustling Night Market, vaulting across numerous stalls and packing crates, scaling walls and leaping from buildings before ending in a ruthless rooftop fight. Wei can perform vaults from cover, slowing time for pin-point accuracy, as they track-down their target, letting no man stand in their way.

Sleeping Dogs is out now on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Sleeping Dogs To Feature Six Months of Additional Content After Launch

Sleeping Dogs will be releasing this week across North America and EU territories, but Square-Enix and United Front Game are looking to have players coming back for more with an extensive six months of additional content.

General manager Lee Singleton said, “Sleeping Dogs is a game we know fans will want to keep on playing, so over the next six months we’ll be creating a series of new content packs giving players everything they need to keep enjoying the game. We want to create something to suit everyone’s play style from cool cars and high-speed missions to outlandish outfits and game-extending mission packs. The game launch is just the beginning.”

At launch, players will be able to download the Retro Triad Pack which allows access to 80’s-esque costumes and a funky kung-fu van.

September onwards sees the release of the Racing Pack and SWAT Pack. Further announcements for content are due in the months to come.

Mrs. Chu Channels The Bride in New Sleeping Dogs Walkthrough

Dan Sochan, producer on United Front Games’ upcoming Sleeping Dogs, takes us on a walkthrough of “Mrs. Chu’s Revenge”. It’s just what you’d expect from the upcoming action adventure title, that takes a few cues from GTA.

The walkthrough, titled “Mrs Chu’s Revenge” focuses on, well, Mrs. Chu as seeks vengeance on those who murdered her friends at her wedding. Kill Bill, much? Even so, Sleeping Dogs looks quite sweet and this walkthrough aptly displays the combat skills involved.

Sleeping Dogs is due for release on August 17th for PS3, XBox 360 and PC.
