You remember that game Kinect Star Wars? Yeah, which was shown last year. I think they are finally going to finish the development on that, and have released an official trailer.

Phew!

So what’s new? Well there is a girl in the trailer, and she, uh, does something cool like a… girly Vader. So check it out.

Kinect Star Wars brings the Star Wars Universe to life like never before. Harnessing the controller-free power of Kinect for Xbox 360, Kinect Star Wars allows fans to physically experience training as a Jedi, using the Force and battling with a lightsaber. Using full body motions, players can live out the ultimate Star Wars fantasy, no controller required.

The trailer shows a hilarious spoof of the famous scene from A New Hope in which Darth Vader kills Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s really funny, you should watch it. If you’ve ever watched Star Wars, and chances are you have, you’ll appreciate this video.

Star Wars fans have to wait a little as Microsoft has announed that Star Wars Kinect has been delayed to 2012. Microsoft said that this was done to achieve the game’s “full potential”.

Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized,” they said.

“This move applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a later date.”

This is shaping up to be a killer app for Kinect, and it is really getting a lot of good games that utilizes its strengths.

We can’t wait for this title, especially with it integrated so well with the Kinect.  I actually got a chance to speak with some of the heads of the development team at e3 2011.  Star Wars Kinect will have you control your force powers with your left hand and your light-saber with your right hand.  The game is due out in February of this year obviously only for the Xbox 360 and will have 2 player co-op.  Check out the latest screens from Gamescom below.

Featuring lush worlds and sequences from the Star Wars movies as well as the expanded universe, the Kinect Star Wars game was given a full blowout at Microsoft’s E3 presser today. The on rails game, which can be controlled exclusively via Kinect, features everything you’d expect from a Star Wars game.

The graphics left us feeling a little underwhelmed, though the soundtrack was incredible (as is to be expected from a LucasArts game). We’ll have more for you on this as it comes.
