"As part of normal business, we delist assets with licensed music when the licenses expire," the company has said.

There have been plenty of question marks regarding the future of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake over the last year or so, given the development issues being faced by the game behind-the-scenes, and they were recently exacerbated when its announcement trailer on the official PlayStation YouTube channel was set to private, along with PlayStation’s tweet about the game also being removed.

That, as you might imagine, led some to speculate that the game was in danger of cancellation (especially given the significant financial issues Embracer Group has been facing lately), though Sony says it delisting the announcement trailer is business as per usual.

In a statement to Kotaku, a Sony spokesperson said that the trailer was delisted due to licensing issues with its music. “As part of normal business, we delist assets with licensed music when the licenses expire,” they said.

Curiously enough, the only music in the trailer is official Star Wars music owned by Disney, leaving one to wonder what music licensing issues would have affected the Disney-licensed game.

In July last year, it was reported that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake’s development had been put on hold, with developer Aspyr Media allegedly being taken off the project. A couple of months later, it was claimed that the project had been shifted over to Saber Interactive instead.
