A new teaser trailer for the character showcases her meeting with the player in a reality-bending scene, complete with adorable Monoids, in World Tour. She summarily shatters the world around him, although her reasons for doing so remain a mystery at this point. It’s going to be interesting to see how her powers come into play, but she’s generally been a mid to close-range fighter with some excellent counter-offensive options, various mix-ups to keep her opponents on their toes, and strong zoning potential for some high-damaging juggle combos.

Her motivations for being part of the game remain unknown at this time, but it’s clear that she’s got some business with the player (aside from serving as a new Master in World Tour). How that plays out is anyone’s guess, but we’re curious to find out more.

She joins Alex, who arrived last month, and is sure to bring some interesting mechanics to the table in what’s going to be her first mainline appearance in the franchise.

Alex’s gameplay style will revolve around rushing down on his opponents and using powerful attacks. To control the space between them, he has long-reaching attacks to poke at his opponents, as well as forward-moving ones that allow him to get close. Quite a few of his moves will also be based on Prowler Stance, through which he can kick off combos culminating in powerful grapples based on professional wrestling.

When it comes to special moves, Alex has a versatile one in the form of Flash Axe. The slashing elbow attack can be used in combos to keep the opponent locked up in a combo, with the Light version even being positive when blocked, which means that your opponent can’t quickly counter-attack. The Medium version of Flash Axe has the added capability of being canceled into Prowler Stance, as well as a wider arc and longer reach.

The Flash Chop is a lunging swinging attack that results in the target being turned around, which in turn opens them up to follow-up attacks, like special suplex-styled grapples. The Overdrive version of Flash Chop does more damage, and can even be combo-ed off a string of Light attacks.

To deal with airborne opponents, Alex has access to the Aerial Knee Smash-an aerial grapple that quickly brings the enemy back to the ground.

Since much of his moveset is based on professional wrestling, Alex also has access to some iconic moves, like the Power Bomb, and Hyper Takedowns DDTs and neck breakers. One of his biggest defensive options is the Raging Spear, which provides invincibility from enemy attacks during startup.

His special moves include the Sledgecross Hammer, which involves Alex unleashing a massive lariat, which can then be further combo-ed into other moves. The Omega Wing Buster – a reference to pro-wrestler Kenny Omega’s One-Winged Angel – is his other special, and can be executed as a follow-up from the Overdrive Power Drop. This starts off a series of animations referring to Omega’s other moves, including a massive knee to the face, before lifting the opponent up on his shoulders to drive them head-first into the ground. Finally, Alex has access to The Final Prison, which involves him taking down his opponent before putting them in a devastating submission move, which is then followed-up by a power slam.

These references to Kenny Omega should come as no surprise, since the wrestler had a hand in providing motion capture for Alex’s special moves. Just last week, Capcom released a video giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how these moves were captured.

Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. In the meantime, Capcom is also gearing up for a new Spotlight showcase for later in the week.

The Capcom Spotlight will focus on upcoming titles like Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Pragmata, and Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection. The teaser has also confirmed that the company will reveal its future plans for Street Fighter 6, with Alex joining the roster on March 17th. You can also look forward to the reveal of the Excellence Awards winners for the Robot Master Design Contest in Mega Man: Dual Override.

Of its current slate of upcoming releases, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will be the first one out, slated for March 13th on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. It will be followed by Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection on March 27th on PC PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Finally, Pragmata is set for an April 24th launch across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.

While Capcom hasn’t outright confirmed it, we might also get to see more details about games that haven’t been mentioned in the teaser. This could include expansion plans for Monster Hunter Wilds, and potentially even a future update for Resident Evil Requiem.

Speaking of which, the horror title was released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 to quite a bit of success. While Capcom had already confirmed back in January that pre-orders had been performing better than internal expectations, launch day saw over 300,000 PC concurrent players jumping into the game. This success has since continued, with current SteamDB charts revealing over 100,000 concurrent players in the game at the time of publishing. As for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Capcom had recently released a new trailer showcasing how the concept art created for its locations were translated into in-game zones. The trailer gave us a look at three main locations – Azuria, Sheparden, and Galyad – with each area’s culture, fashion and architecture on full display. For those curious about the upcoming turn-based RPG, there is a free demo available that allows you to carry over your save data into the full game.

Pragmata has similarly gotten a free demo across all platforms that provides players with a taste of its third-person action combat that melds gunplay with puzzle solving. It even got a trailer back in February showcasing a new location that seems to be a holographic recreation of New York City. For more details, check out how Capcom struggled with properly portraying Diana as an android thanks to the game’s focus on photo-realistic visuals.

Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection was announced back in December, and is slated to feature every title in the Star Force series, from Mega Man Star Force Leo, Dragon, and Pegasus to Mega Man Star Force 2 Zerker x Ninja and Zerker x Saurian, and Mega Man Star Force 3 Black Ace and Red Joker.

Kenny Omega, the popular professional wrestler, has had what looks to be a very enjoyable day performing motion capture for Alex, a character whose agility and raw strength are featured heavily in his moveset. The game’s official account showcases the process behind recording moves and weaving its magic to include all the power Alex can truly muster when he unleashes on an opponent.

There’s a lot to see here if you’re thinking about making a beeline for Alex as one of your mains when he drops next month. We get a glimpse of how Omega’s moves translate to a gameplay loop that’s about keeping your opponent guessing with a brutal onslaught of mix-ups and grabs that can be quite hard to respond to. Alex also dominates the screen with his imposing presence, which doesn’t help either.

It’s definitely an interesting way to showcase a character who likes to make an entrance. Alex is available on March 17th as part of the Year 3 Character Pass.

As the trailer shows, Alex’s moveset includes a mix of strikes and grapples, with the latter based on modern pro-wrestling moves and other martial arts, such as judo throws. Among the moves in his repertoire are suplexes and DDTs, hard-hitting lariats, diving kicks, and a quick dash that can then transition into other, more complex moves.

Alex has four Super Arts available to him, depending on how much of his Super Art gauge has been filled up. His level 1 Super Art, dubbed the Raging Spear, has Alex rush forward into a tackle. The start-up is immune to opponents’ strikes and grapples, and it can also be used in longer combos.

One of his level 2 Super Arts is the Sledgecross Hammer, which involves him blasting his opponent with a hard-hitting lariat that can cause a wall bounce on enemies that happened to be airborne at the time. As a bonus, it also offers some invincibility from projectile attacks.

His second level 2 Super Art is the Omega Wing Buster, and is essentially an homage to Omega. The move itself is a knee strike followed up by a piledriver from an Electric Chair position. Pro-wrestling fans will recognise this as Omega’s iconic V-Trigger knee strike into his finisher, the One-Winged Angel. As added visual flair, Alex also gets a small wisp of smoke behind him in the shape of a single wing. It is worth noting that this can only be pulled off following a successful OD Power Drop.

The final Super Art is at level 3 and is dubbed The Final Prison. The Super Art involves four different animations and has Alex choking out his opponents with a series of grappling moves. Animations differ depending on the state of the match after using the move, with matches ended with it offering an entirely different animation.

Alex is part of the Year 3 Character Pass for Street Fighter 6. Along with the character itself, the trailer also showcased his Outfit 2, a throwback to how he looked when he first debuted in Street Fighter 3. His Outfit 1, on the other hand, is meant to reflect “his role as the Dark Devil of the ring,” according to Capcom.

The character is the fourth part of the Year 3 pass, following up on Sagat and C. Viper, who were previously released. The final character of the pass—Ingrid—is slated for release in Late Spring.

Since his inception, Alex has been a character themed after pro-wrestlers, pulling off moves like knee strikes, drop kicks, and power bombs before Andore eventually passes out in a headlock. While announced as arriving in the game in Winter 2025, he’ll now launch in Spring 2026 instead. It is also worth noting that, much like the other characters added to Street Fighter 6 over the years, Alex will also be available as a master in the World Tour mode, which means that your custom character can also learn to use his moves.

Alex was unveiled alongside Sagat, C. Viper and Ingrid as part of the Year 3 characters coming to Street Fighter 6. The character hasn’t been absent from the franchise for too long, having last been seen in the roster of Street Fighter 5.

The character first made his debut in Street Fighter 3, where he essentially served as the game’s main mascot. The title (and character) went largely underappreciated at the time because its initial release didn’t include any of the characters from the preceding game, including stalwarts like Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li. Later releases, which culminated in Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, would end up becoming quite popular, especially among more competitive players, thanks to its more well-rounded roster that included the new characters from Street Fighter 3 alongside returning ones from games like Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter Alpha.

The previous addition to the Street Fighter 6 roster was C. Viper, who arrived in the fighting game back in October. She’s known for her short-range technical moveset that revolves around her fiery kicks and shocking punches. The character made her debut back in Street Fighter 4, where she was an undercover CIA agent who was climbing up the ranks of the evil Shadaloo organization so she could put a stop to the evil machinations of M. Bison and Seth.

Before C. Viper, Street Fighter 6 saw the return of fan-favourite character Sagat, who made his series debut by serving as the final boss in the very first Street Fighter game all the way back in 1987. Sagat’s moves revolve around zoning out his opponents thanks to his high and low fireballs, brutal uppercuts and knee strikes.

Unlike, say, Ronaldo, Chun-Li has a purpose in South Town. An “infamous criminal syndicate” is apparently being revived, and it’s up to the Interpol agent to unravel it all. Before you ask, yes – Shadaloo is the syndicate in question. But are they really causing trouble in this neck of the woods?

You’ll have to experience Chun-Li’s Arcade Mode story to find out more. New Episodes of South Town are also being added, which focus more on her teaching and advising the populace on kung fu.

For more details on Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, check out our review of the base game. With Chun-Li out this week, the only Season 1 DLC character left is Mr Big, who debuts in early 2026.

As with previously added DLC characters and the base roster, C. Viper is a master in World Tour. Players can learn her moves to add to their avatar’s repertoire, and achieving a max bond will unlock her original outfit. Of course, you can pay Fighter Coins to skip the grind as well.

October 15th also marks a special crossover event with Chunsoft’s 1994 visual novel Banshee’s Last Cry, which adds new items and a fresh World Tour episode for free. Players can look forward to Zangief’s Outfit 4, which grants a mecha look. Metal band Cavalera Conspiracy is commemorating the release with a new song so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

The eagerly anticipated survival horror, which crossed one million wishlists within a few weeks of its announcement, is part of the publisher’s line-up for the show. If Gamescom is anything to go by, it might be playable on the show floor, but you shouldn’t expect any new information during the Special Program.

Perhaps it’s a reveal for Sony’s rumored State of Play? That’s always a possibility, but we’ll have to wait for it to be made official. On the bright side, you can expect the “latest updates” on Pragmata and Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, new details on Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 3 (out later this month), and C. Viper, the latest character for Street Fighter 6.

The “latest footage” for Onimusha: Way of the Sword will also be showcased, while Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection sees producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Kenji Oguro providing new details and highlights. As always, stay tuned for more coverage next week.
