Along with announcing a launch date for PS5 cloud streaming via PlayStation Plus Premium, Sony revealed the newest games coming to Extra and Premium in October. Starting October 17th, subscribers can get their hands on Gotham Knights, the only current-gen title for the month.

Don’t worry – plenty of cross-gen titles like Disco Elysium – The Final Cut, FAR: Changing Tides, Eldest Souls, Röki and The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes await on PS4 and PS5. PS4 titles include Alien: Isolation, Dead Island Definitive Edition, Outlast 2 and Elite Dangerous, all backwards compatible on PS5, further expanding the options for current-gen console players.

There’s also Gungrave G.O.R.E., perhaps one of the best bad games you’ll ever experience. For Premium subscribers, classics like Tekken 6, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, IQ Final and Ape Escape Academy will be available. All are playable on PS4 and PS5, though you’ll need to download PS5 versions of each title. As for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers, check out this month’s free games here.

The causes of many broken controllers.

We all love a good challenging boss fight, but every so often, developers fail to see the line that separates “challenging” from “downright broken”. And those fights are more annoying and infuriating than they are fun. In this feature, we’ll be talking about a few such boss fights.

THE GENERAL (KAISER KNUCKLE)

The end of Kaiser Knuckle’s campaign sees players coming up against The General, in what proves to be one of the cheapest and most frustratingly tough bosses you’ll ever face in a fighting game. Thanks to ridiculously unfair teleportation moves, slide kicks that he just won’t stop spamming, and various attacks that can do devastating damage, the General is an absolute nightmare.

Just when things seemed easy, these bosses came along for a bad time.

Have you ever wandered through a level, enjoying life and all of its gifts, only for a boss to appear and ruin your day? Even if said boss didn’t outright destroy you, it’s definitely tougher than the level you just traipsed through. Odd as it may seem, this happens more than you’d think. Let’s take a look at 15 of the hardest bosses that can be found in relatively easy levels.

Tekken 6 – Azazel

Oh, Azazel. While scooting through the Story Battle mode, you shouldn’t have much trouble with the various fighters (including the King of Iron Fist himself, Jin Kazama). Of course, then you run across Azazel, a massive beast that fires lasers, stomps the ground to create spikes for multiple hits and even spins forward for massive damage. Azazel is considered one of the worst bosses in the series and rightfully so.

The year is almost over. The decade is almost over. It’s wild to think about, maybe a little depressing, a little exciting, who the hell really knows at this point. But one thing that continues on is the free games from various services, including Xbox Live and its Games With Gold. Next month has quite the selection, with a certain superhero headlining it.

The most notable game given away in January is The Telltale Batman Series, a narrative adventure following the Dark Knight as he grapples with an unexpected revelation from his past. It will be available on Xbox One systems from January 16th to February 15th. Sticking to the shadows there’s also Styx: Shards of Darkness, a stealth based game that will be available on Xbox One systems the entire month of January.

On the 360 side of things you can fight things out with Tekken 6, and chill out with some Legos with Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy. Those games will be available on both all 360 systems as well as the Xbox One.

The free games will go live starting at the beginning of next month to kick off the next year.

Being evil is unfortunately no excuse for stupidity, which these villains possess in spades.

Every game has its share of memorable villains, from those with sinister plots to misunderstood villains who are actually working for the greater good. However, it’s not hard to find a few of these best-laid plans a little, shall we see, idiotic in some circumstances. Let’s take a look at the 15 of the dumbest plans that video game villains have ever put together.

Hugo Strange – Batman: Arkham City

The story for Batman: Arkham City starts simply enough – Bruce Wayne is against the creation of this massive city as an asylum. Hugo Strange captures him and knows about him being Batman. From there, Batman escapes into the city while Strange goes ahead with his plans for Protocol 10. Why doesn’t Strange try killing Batman or Wayne sooner? Granted, he sends an assassin or something but all those military forces and you still don’t make him a priority? Why even kidnap him in the first place then?

Tekken 6 has now officially sold 3 million units world-wide, Namco Bandai confirms, taking the grand total of the Tekken franchise to a whomping (willow) 39 million units.

Tekken 6 sold 1 million units in the first fiscal quarter of this year (April to June), thus reducing the company’s loss to a mere 1.64 billion yen.

Taiko Drum Master, Ben 10 Alien Force and Super Robot Wars sold 400,00 copies put together, not selling very well…. quite understandably.

Namco Bandai, who I often fondly refer to as Bamco Nandai, will be teaming up with Capcom to create an all new fighter, Tekken X Street Fighter (developed by Bamco- err, Namco). Capcom will be managing Street Fighter X Tekken.

Check back this space for more info… yeah, the same line.

Tekken has been one of the most beloved fighting game franchises on the consoles and arcade for so many years. And Tekken 6 doesn’t disappoint either. It’s the most refined title in the series. It offers the most comprehensive roster in the series yet. For veterans and new-comers alike, it delivers enough gameplay features to make everyone happy and hooked to it for sometime.

Right from beginning, first thing that will stun you is the amount fighters available, 41 to be exact. All the old favorite characters, including Lei, Nina, Law, Paul and others are back mixed with some new ones such as Bob and Leo. All this makes for an interesting lineup. Although little tweaks are made, here and there, but the veteran players will feel at home as far as their favorite characters moves are concerned. Some minor adjustments have also been made regarding how much damage certain combos inflict.

Tekken 6 features some great character models.

Tekken’s fight mechanics feature each limb assigned to a button on the controller. Each move and combo is pulled off via combination of these buttons. For all the Tekken experts, pulling off these outrageous combos is a piece of cake. Idea is to launch your opponent in the air, keep him there as long as you can and take as much advantage as you can by inflicting some serious damage. But that’s not it, other amazing moves include throw counters, wall juggles, roll evasions etc.

Graphics are superb!

There are plenty of gameplay modes on offer here. Most obvious one is the arcade mode where you rank up you selected character against AI opponents. Various AI levels are on hand, from very easy to ultra hard, and depending on your level of experience you can set the appropriate difficulty level. If you are constantly getting thrashed from AI or your buddies then you have a chance to master and polish your moves in a comprehensive practice mode. You can improve your defense here too by practicing against an aggressively attacking AI.

Tekken 6 also features a Scenario Campaign, which is a beat-‘em-up multihour addictive mode taking place on various locations. It follows the story of Alisa and Lars, the two new characters in the game. You unlock an arena after beating few initial levels in the Scenario Campaign. Unlike the arcade mode, only a few characters are available in the arena and you unlock more of them by playing through the storyline of various characters. It also rewards you with various unlockables and ending video of each character. All in all this mode offers 6-7 hours of gameplay which while being a bit repetitive, is still fun and has quite a good deal of replay value.

Okay, that’s just rude.

Moving onto the online component of the game and it features same online modes you’ll come to expect with both ranked and unranked matches. It must be admitted here that online multiplayer is quite a disappointment mainly due to severe amount of lags. There is great deal of controller input lag even on the fastest of the connections. Somehow if you come across tolerable levels of lag then it can be quite fun.

Tekken 6 is not visually as stunning but it doesn’t mean that it’s an ugly game. Character models are impressive running at 60 frames per second. But some noticeable aliasing and bland textures do make it less pretty on screen. Otherwise sound is top notch with some impressive sound effects. Overall Tekken 6 is great game offering enough features to make the Tekken fans happy till next title but that doesn’t mean newcomers shouldn’t try it out. It’s the most complete Tekken experience and a must have for all the fighting game fans.
