Includes original game and previously released DLC add-ons.

Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that the Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition will retail in North America and Europe next month. The former will release on October 8th while the latter comes out on October 11th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Along with the original game, the Game of the Year Edition will feature all of the additional DLC released till now. This includes Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walker’s Arsenal. That’s a whole lot of bang for your buck, especially if you’ve never experience the original quest before. Now it remains to be seen how the GotY Edition is priced.

Dishonored released last year for the above platforms and stole the show away from other high-profile sequels and releases with its gameplay, level and environment design and story. Bethesda had earlier confirmed that the success of the game was above their expectations and that it will be getting the franchise treatment.

Co-creative director Raphael Colantonio feels they should keep doing these kinds of games.

Speaking to Rock Paper Shotgun, Arkane Studios co-creative director Raphael Colantonio is incredibly pleased with the success of Dishonored, which released last year and has received universal acclaim. The game has continued to expand with the addition of DLC, including The Brigmore Witches which released recently.

As Colantonio states, “It’s very validating for us, because it’s the kind of game we always wanted to make. They’ve always been hard to sell. Were they not accessible enough? Was the market not really for it? Did the publisher not really understand it? Were we not good at it? I don’t know.

“But the point is, these kinds of games have always been hard to make and sell. Having success with it tells us we should keep all these values and do more of this kind of game. I think hardware is powerful enough to accept these kinds of games with all the depth and memory they need, which was a challenge a few years ago. So it all says stronger than ever that we should keep doing these kinds of games.”

After the success of the game, Bethesda’s Pete Hines revealed that Dishonored is now a new franchise for the company. As such, the first game still has one more DLC pack left for release.

Defeat the witches and finish Daud's fight in the newest DLC.

The journey of Daud continues in the next DLC for Arkane Studios’ Dishonored, namely The Brigmore Witches which is now available for Xbox 360 and PC for 800 Microsoft Points and £7.99/€9.99 respectively. The PS3 version of the DLC will be out on August 14th.

The Brigmore Witches sees Daud go after the witch leader Delilah in order to stop her from performing a ritual that will somehow doom him. Of course, there’s plenty of other things to do and places of Dunwall to explore before Daud faces Corvo in the decisive encounter to decide his fate. You can rest assured that thanks to a compatible save file option, all of your actions, powers, weapons, items and Chaos level from Knife of Dunwall will carry over.

Stay tuned for more details on The Brigmore Witches, and other upcoming DLC expansions for Dishonored of which there is at least one left (with a Game of the Year edition also on the way).
