This voluntary career transition program, for the employees that agree to it, involves the employee being let go from Massive Entertainment with a comprehensive severance package that would involve financial and career assistance.

“As part of our ongoing evolution and long-term planning, we have recently realigned our teams and resources to strengthen our roadmap, ensuring our continued focus on The Division franchise and the technologies, including Snowdrop and Ubisoft Connect, that power our games,” wrote the studio in its statement.

“To support this transition responsibly, we introduced a voluntary career transition program, giving eligible team members the opportunity to take their next career step on their own terms, supported by a comprehensive package that includes financial and career assistance.”

Along with this, Massive Entertainment also establishes its intent to fully commit to The Division as a franchise, which would involve more content for The Division 2, as well as development of the upcoming The Division 2: Survivors, support work for The Division Resurgence, and even work on the third game in the franchise. “These projects continue with strength, focus and ambition,” said the studio, “and we look forward to sharing more in the future.”

A recent report indicated that Ubisoft had similarly offered a “restructuring proposal” for another one of its studios – Ubisoft RedLynx. As part of this proposal, up to 60 positions in the studio are set to be affected. This proposal, however, doesn’t yet have full approval yet, and there is no timetable for when it will go forward.

“This proposal reflects difficult choices we may need to make, and it comes after careful consideration,” said Ubisoft RedLynx managing director Celine Pasula. “We recognise the weight of this announcement and want to acknowledge the impact this proposal may have on individuals and teams.”

“We are confident that, with the proposed changes, RedLynx would continue to play a meaningful role in Ubisoft’s future – driving technical excellence on mobile devices, and strengthening Ubisoft’s cross and multi-platform capabilities on small screens to expand our audience reach.”

It is worth noting that, as part of this restructuring proposal, RedLynx would move on from being a multiplatform game developer to only focusing on small-screen experiences – namely mobile.

These moves come just a few weeks after Ubisoft had officially unveiled the name of its new subsidiary company – Vantage Studios. The company, headed up by co-CEOs Charlie Guillemot and Christophe Derennes, will be in charge of the development and support for three of Ubisoft’s largest franchises – Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.

Among other things, the forming of Vantage Studios also eventually led to the departure of former Assassin’s Creed franchise head Marc-Alexis Côté earlier this month.

Of course, other titles will be announced “at a later stage,” but the most interesting release of the line-up is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, which the publisher said would launch in 2026. Fans can essentially look forward to it releasing in the first quarter of next year, i.e. between January 1st and March 31st, 2026.

Unless there’s a delay in the coming months, this is the most concrete release window that the remake has had since its announcement in 2020, which drew extensive criticism over its visuals. After numerous delays, Ubisoft Montreal would take over the project in May 2022 and revealed that development was “progressing forward” in November 2023.

Additional updates have since confirmed redesigned levels and combat alongside an overhaul to Farah’s character. Will it be at Ubisoft Forward typically held in June? Time will tell, so stay tuned.

Other titles slated to appear at the showcase include Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, and XDefiant (which launches next week). While it didn’t specify what the updates entail, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will reportedly receive a gameplay reveal, followed by hands-on impressions from journalists and content creators on June 12th.

Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence could receive release dates, while XDefiant’s future maps and characters may be revealed. Of course, there’s room for unexpected announcements, perhaps relating to future titles like Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 and Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe. Ubisoft may also finally provide an update on its co-op shooter Project U. Stay tuned for more updates next month.

Set before the first game, Resurgence focuses on the SHD’s First Wave as they answer the call. You’ll still venture to the Base of Operations in Manhattan and find some sick loot. The difference is that there are Specializations, like Vanguard and Demolitionist, and you can swap them out whenever. No more having to return to the BoO, again and again, to do so.

In its most recent quarterly fiscal report, Ubisoft stated that it has eight games currently lined up for release in FY 2023/24, which runs until March 31 next year, with one of them being listen as an unannounced “large” game.

Other titles listed for release in that period are Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, The Crew Motorfest, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, and XDefiant. Interestingly, there is no mention of The Division Heartland, which has already been delayed a few times (similar to a few of the games mentioned above).

With a Ubisoft Forward showcase coming up in less than a month, the company is likely to announce the unnamed game it has scheduled for release in the coming months, in addition to providing updates on other upcoming games.

The Division Resurgence will be a fully open world looter shooter experience that will feature a PvE campaign that can be played both solo and co-op, while PvP offerings like the Dark Zone will also be included.

Ubisoft has also reiterated in its report that in addition to the two mobile games, it also plans on released Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, The Crew Motorfest, and another “large” unannounced game in FY 2023/24.

The Dark Zone is a PvPvE experience where players can team up or fight against each other while also fighting various enemies throughout the zone. To get rewards, however, players will have to successfully extract the goods. Players can also become rogue agents at any moment and stab their former allies in the back to steal their stuff.

The Division Resurgence is set to be a free-to-play mobile third-person shooter RPG. It features a campaign and story that’s independent to the events of the first two Division games.

The Division Resurgence was announced by Ubisoft earlier this year, with plenty of gameplay also being shown off. Ubisoft has also provided an update on The Division Heartland, while The Division 2 is set to continue receiving new updates throughout the year.

The closed beta for The Division Resurgence will be kicking off this Fall.

Now, more games have been added to the list, with Ubisoft revealing that fans of The Division will also have plenty to look forward to. Taking to Twitter, the company has confirmed that the Ubisoft Forward showcase will also include updates on free-to-play PvPvE title The Division Heartland, mobile title The Division Resurgence, and upcoming content for The Division 2.

Interestingly, some brief new details and screenshots on The Division Heartland were also recently leaked via the Ubisoft Store itself. The game is expected to launch in the current fiscal year (which means before April 2023), so there’s a good chance that Ubisoft ends up announcing a final release date for it.
