Returning to the stage at The Game Awards 2021, Evil West received its gameplay debut trailer, and it’s looking quite promising. There’s plenty of intense, fast-paced action showcased here, with a solid mix of melee combat and ranged powers and abilities, with a lightning-fueled gauntlet taking center stage. And yes, there’s plenty of twisted monstrosities to check out as well. Check out the trailer below.

Meanwhile, unsurprisingly, it’s also been confirmed that the launch window for Evil West has been pushed back to an undetermined date in 2022. It will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Ever since it launched in 2014, The Game Awards has slowly turned into one of the biggest events in gaming, easily the most watched single one in the industry. It’s managed to surpass individual (and in some cases, combined) viewers of E3, TGS and GDC. The awards themselves have largely been minimized, with many tuning in to see the latest trailers and reveals, with the show always having at least one major moment to keep you talking. This year was no different, in fact, it was even bigger.

As Creator and Host Geoff Keighley revealed on his official Twitter, this year’s TGA saw a staggering 83% increase in viewership over TGA 2019. That equates to 83 million livestreams and 8.3 million concurrent viewers. He also posted a chart showing the pretty incredible growth from the first show back in 2014.

While that was the year the show did begin, some may not know it was an unofficial continuation of the Video Game Awards on Spike TV (now called The Paramount Network). When it was announced they would no longer host the show after the 2013 event, Keighley managed to get the resources together to launch The Game Awards and well, its success speaks for itself. The time and date for the 2021 show has not been announced as of yet, but there is sure to be one.

Just Cause is coming to mobile devices next year in the succinctly named Just Cause: Mobile. Announced at The Game Awards, it’s a free to play shooter with online co-op and competitive modes. Players can create their own character and partake in a new story campaign while teaming with characters from previous titles.

Co-op missions are a separate feature and involve playing with up to three other players for battling waves of enemies including tanks and mechs. Triple Threat is a 30 person mode with three teams of 10 players battling on a huge map with vehicles to secure bases. Finally, there’s Challenge Mode which provides Destruction, Wingsuit and Racing challenges for getting the best scores.

Of course, all of the essential gameplay elements of Just Cause – like grappling, gliding, shooting and a large open world – will also be present. Check out the trailer below to see the game in action. Stay tuned for more details on a release date and potential closed beta in the future.

One of the biggest surprises of The Game Awards 2020 and which immediately kicked off the show was Sephiroth. Not just Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7 but Sephiroth as the next DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He’s coming later this month but, as usual, we won’t have to wait long for more details.

The Nintendo of America Twitter confirmed a new “Mr. Sakurai Presents” presentation for December 17th at 2 PM PT where the game’s director will break down the fighter’s mechanics. A release date will also be provided, which we only assume to be a week afterwards. Overall, Christmas is looking pretty good for Smash Bros. fans.

Along with Sephiroth, the new Challenger Pack will also include a new stage – which replicates the final battle from Final Fantasy 7 – and new music. It’s also likely that we’ll be seeing some new Mii Fighter costumes to accompany this release. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Cyberpunk 2077 finally released this week after the better part of a decade of being hyped, and it seems to have done pretty well for itself. Being as big as a game it is, crossovers with other franchises are, of course, inevitable. Now it seems the game has a bit of the racing bug with Forza Horizon 4.

One of the more prominent vehicles in 2077 is the slick 2058 Quadra Turbo-R V-TECH. As announced at The Game Awards 2020, the car will come to Microsoft and Playground Games’ racing title, which just got a recent update all about track building. You can see the trailer below, which shows the car flying around in all its futuristic glory.

Forza Horizon 4 is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. The Quadra is available for free as of today for all platforms Cyberpunk 2077 is available on those same platforms as well as PS4 and Stadia.

One of the original tough as nails video games was Capcom’s Ghosts ‘n Goblins. The game saw you fight through the undead as kindly knight Arthur against legions of various monsters. The series has continued on in some form or another with sequels, such as Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, and a variety of remakes through the years. Now it’s time for Arthur to suit up once more.

As announced at The Game Awards 2020, a new entry in the franchise will come early next year as Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection. The game is referred to as a reboot and includes a new storybook-like look and presentation. It also seems to tease that the game will keep true to its roots with some brutal looking difficulty as you fight through the hordes of familiar enemies. Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch February 25th, 2021.

Microsoft had a fairly decent presence at The Game Awards this year with The Initiative revealing its reboot of Perfect Dark at last. It also showcased a new trailer for Xbox Game Pass with current and upcoming titles. Sure, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Special Edition coming to the service is great but more importantly, The Yakuza Remastered Collection and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life have also been confirmed.

This means that remasters of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 along with Yakuza 6 will be playable on Xbox platforms and PC for the first time. But that’s not all – they’ll also be available on Steam as per an official tweet. The Yakuza Remastered Collection arrives on January 28th 2021 for the platform (with each game also being sold separately) while Yakuza 6: The Song of Life arrives on March 25th 2021.

Other upcoming titles for Game Pass include Neoverse, Killer Queen Black (for console), Cyber Shadow and Among Us (for PC). The Medium is also out on January 28th 2021 for Xbox Series X/S and PC players. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

The Game Awards has always been about revealing things big and small, and the very unexpected. The show always manages to have at least a few gems that you had no idea was coming. One such instance here was Crimson Desert, the latest game from the developer of the highly successful Black Desert.

The trailer, which you can see in full below, is said to be captured in-game footage and not edited. There’s not a lot here to give a sense of the game’s overarching story, but there’s lots of action, hacking and slashing and the like. Like Black Desert, the game will have online elements with promises of combining it with a more story-driven experience. There’s not many details obviously, but we’ll no doubt see more soon.

Crimson Desert is set to release in Winter 2021. No platforms where given, though PC is most likely a given and probably next generation consoles. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

The Game Awards is a place where just about anything and everything gets revealed. From the big AAA titles, such as of the upcoming revival of Perfect Dark from Microsoft, to the smaller titles such as the charming looking indie, Tchia.

Announced with a trailer at the event’s pre-show, Tchia is an open-world title that allows you to climb, glide and raft around a tropical island. The titular character can also take control of various animals and objects, such as a crab and some type of fruit as seen in the trailer below. The game is actually inspired by the real world New Caledonia, an island in the South Pacific, and takes much from its culture. Tchia will release for both PC and Google Stadia. As of now, there’s no provided time frame for when to expect the game.

The 1-3 co-op action shooter, Outriders, was originally supposed to come this year, in fact being one of the first titles revealed for next generation consoles. However, it was not to be as it was pushed back to the early part of 2021 instead. The marketing for the game has continued, and at The Game Awards this year we got a trailer to give you some tips on how to survive.

The trailer, which you can see below, is labeled Mantras of Survival and includes four basic tips on how to survive in the world of Outriders. They are Cover is for Cowards, Powers on Tap, Kill to Heal and Think Aggressive. The video is also laced with some gameplay footage to give some examples of how to follow these rules. As you can see, the game wants you to play at an aggressive style among your battles.
