Set in the Purribean, Cat Quest 3 will see players exploring a variety of locations, many of which are showcased in the trailer. Also highlighted are some of the real-time combat, exploration, real-time naval exploration and combat, and the various loot and treasure rewards that players will be finding on their many pirate adventures (or Pi-Rats, as the game calls them). Cat Quest 3 will, meanwhile, also feature support for local co-op, allowing two players to play together locally. Check out the trailer below for more details. 

Cat Quest 3 launches on August 8 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Players on Switch and PC can also download a free demo of the game.

The trailer is a brief one, but does offer plenty of intriguing glimpses of the game, showcasing its combat, naval gameplay, world map exploration, and more, while also touching on some of the game’s RPG mechanics and build diversity. For fans of its two predecessors, it certainly seems to be building on their foundations with some promising changes and improvements. Check out the trailer below for more details.

Meanwhile, a demo of the game will also be releasing for PC tomorrow, on June 10, as part of the Steam Next Fest. Those on Switch have, of course, had access to the demo since April.

As the third game in the Cat Quest franchise, Cat Quest 3 is a pirate-themed adventure where players can explore the open seas of the Purribean, which are known for being bountiful as well as dangerous. As players continue their adventures in search of the legendary North Star, they will also get to meet mysterious characters and explore picturesque islands.

Along with single-player, Cat Quest 3 also features co-op multiplayer. The game also has a demo out right now on the Nintendo Switch. The demo features the game’s opening areas, introducing some of its colourful characters and showcasing some off the tropical islands that players will get to visit. The demo also features seamless local co-op through the use of the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con controllers.

Kepler has announced some new partnerships for 2023 and beyond, including an investment in The Gentlebros, the Singapore-based studio behind Cat Quest. The publisher will partner with the studio on future releases while providing “valuable expertise in the mobile gaming space.” A global publishing partnership with Sandfall, based in Montpellier, has also been announced, with the studio’s first game being an “epic single-player narrative-driven adventure.”

Along with launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam, Sifu is also getting a substantial new content update: Arenas. It adds five new modes, nine locations and 45 challenges for up to 10 hours of additional gameplay.
