With the Battlefield 5 open beta having recently ended, DICE has made the Premium Pass for Battlefield 1 free across all platforms. This includes all of the paid expansions for the developer’s 2016 World War 1 shooter- but there is a catch. The Premium Pass is only free until September 18th. Get it now before it’s gone, essentially.

In terms of content, there’s a lot to dig into for those who only own the base game. The Premium Pass features four expansion packs – They Shall Not Pass, In The Name of the Tsar, Turning Tides, and Apocalypse. Each comes with a number of new maps, Operations, new modes like Conquest Assault and Air Assault, new weapons, new vehicles, and new elite classes like the Trench Raider and Infiltrator.

As for Battlefield 5, it will be out on November 20th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. DICE recently revealed more details about the upcoming Battle Royale mode, Firestorm, though when it will launch is still up in the air.

It’s September, and this week marks the arrival of the Battlefield 5 open beta. It will be available on September 6th for all platforms. However, if you’re subscribed to Origin Access Premier/Basic/EA Access or have pre-ordered the game, then the beta goes live early on September 4th.

What do you do when the beta ends on September 11th? For owners of Battlefield 1 who haven’t picked up the Premium Pass, it will be totally free. This applies only to Origin users and is valid up till September 18th. However, the Premium Pass is yours to keep beyond that.

Encompassing all four expansions – They Shall Not Pass, In the Name of the Tsar, Turning Tides, and Apocalypse – the Premium Pass gives you access to tons of additional maps, modes, weapons, vehicles, and so on. That should keep you busy until Battlefield 5 launches.

Speaking of which, Battlefield 5 was recently delayed from its October release date to November 20th. Feedback from the beta will be taken into account for the final game though. For a full rundown on the changes in the beta, head here.

Remember when DICE released the Rupture map from Battlefield 1’s They Shall Not Pass DLC and promised to release more in May? Today, it’s announced an even more enticing offer. They Shall Not Pass is currently free for the next two weeks on Xbox One and PC. If you head on to Origin or Xbox Live and add it to your cart, it’s yours forever.

Keep in mind that the offer is valid for all owners of the game and not EA/Origin Access members. Oddly enough, the offer doesn’t seem to be available for PS4 but that could change. Along with four maps, new weapons and the French Army as a faction, They Shall Not Pass also introduces the new Frontlines mode. Players attempt to take control of various points and then engage in a Rush-style race to either destroy or defend various points.

Shock Operations, a new mode that supports 40 players fighting over different points on a map, will be out in June. Maps that will support it include Giant’s Shadow, Lupkow Pass, Prise de Tahure, River Somme and Zeebrugge. The good news is that corresponding DLC won’t be needed to play these in Frontlines mode.

Though DICE is prepping Battlefield 5, rumoured to include its own Battle Royale mode, the developer is still consistently supporting Battlefield 1. It revealed that more maps would be releasing from the DLC They Shall Not Pass to all players.

The first map is Rupture, available from today onwards, and more maps from the DLC can be expected to arrive in May. There will be something even better in June though as Shock Operations will be coming to the game. With 40 player support, Shock Operations features two teams fighting over control of sectors.

There’s only a single map to battle on and five maps will be available when the mode launches including Giant’s Shadow, Lupkow Pass, Prise de Tahure, River Somme, and Zeebrugge. All maps will be available to non-Premium Pass, non-DLC players but only for Shock Operations. Other monthly updates include matchmaking, weapon balance changes and more “fresh content” so it should be interesting to see.

Say what you will about DICE’s handling of Star Wars Battlefront 2 but it’s been doing a fairly decent job with Battlefield 1 in the past year (and yes, that’s taking into account how long it took to address crucial issues).

If you haven’t really tried Battlefield 1, now’s a good time – a free trial is currently available the expansions “They Shall Not Pass” and “In the Name of the Tsar” according to the game’s official Twitter.

The expansions add the French and Russian armies to the conflict, thus bringing even more diversity to multiplayer. The first wave of trials will be live until December 4th. The second wave starts on December 8th and ends on 10th.

Meanwhile, the next big expansion Turning Tides will launch on December 11th so this is a good way to try out previous DLC content to see if the Premium Pass is worth it. Non-Premium Pass holders will have to wait a bit longer for the third DLC.

Turning Tides will be quite the DLC pack for Battlefield 1, launching in two phases. The first phase will be in December while the second goes live in January 2018. Stay tuned for more information on the same in the coming months.

Players of DICE’s Battlefield 1, more specifically those who don’t known the Premium Pass or They Shall Not Pass, will receive a “new” map when they next log on. That’s because Nivelle Nights will be available for all players very soon.

Set across Malmaison and Soupir, Nivelle Nights focuses on trench combat and as such close quarters fighting is a must. It was also confirmed that more Operations will be coming though you’ll need the DLC to play them. For now, Nivelle Nights seems to be the one bit of free content we can expect for a while, especially since Battlefield 1 is still doing very well for itself.

In the meantime, DICE will also release Star Wars Battlefront 2 on November 17th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Unlike Battlefield 1, it won’t have a Season Pass but will include microtransactions and free seasons of content that add new maps, heroes and Star Cards.

DICE’s Battlefield 1 will be getting the free to play treatment on Xbox One this weekend courtesy of the Xbox Free Play Days promotion. It starts on September 22nd and ends on September 24th. The offer is only open for Xbox Live Gold subscribers however.

Players will be able to experience the single player campaign, presumably without any restrictions, along with the base game’s multiplayer maps. Progress and Achievements earned will carry over to the full game if you decide to buy it.

So it’s a good thing that Battefield 1 Revolution Edition will go on sale for 40 percent off, providing the base game along with all DLC, present and future. Alternatively, those who own the base game can buy the Premium Pass for 40 percent off on all platforms.

From today onwards and until September 30th, the Revolution Battlefest will be available to all players, thus allowing access to They Shall Not Pass and In The Name of The Tsar. You’ll get to experience all the content that these DLC packs provide if you own the base game.

DICE’s Battlefield 1 is receiving its fair share of new content today. They Shall Not Pass, the first paid DLC for the shooter, will be going live today for those who own the Premium Pass. Everyone else will receive it on March 28th. The DLC is currently out for PC users though PS4 and Xbox One players won’t have to wait long for it to go live. Servers will be taken offline to deploy the DLC.

They Shall Not Pass includes a new faction in the French Army, four new maps, two new Operations, six new weapons to unlock, four melee weapons, the Char 2C tank is a new Behemoth and the Trench Raider elite class. You can also look forward to the new mode Frontlines.

An update will also be out today for all users which brings Spectator mode, changes to resupply timers on grenades, bug fixes and balance changes for weapons. You can read the entire patch notes here.

En route to the release of Battlefield 1’s first DLC They Shall Not Pass which introduces the French army and four new maps, EA has revealed information on the next three DLC packs coming to the first person shooter.

The second expansion, Name of the Tsar, will feature the Russian army, a chance to ride with the Hussars and both the Brusilov offensive and Albion assault. The third DLC is Turning Tides which will introduce the Zeebrugge raid and Gallipoli beaches along with a new destroyed and airship.

The Apocalypse expansion is the final DLC and brings “the most infamous battles of WW1” along with the “brutal tools and unique weapons born out of desperation and deadlock.”

If you have the Premium Pass, then each DLC will be available two weeks earlier from its worldwide release. You’ll also receive 14 Superior-level Battlepacks with in-game cosmetics.

Battlefield 1’s They Shall Not Pass arrives on March 14th for Premium Pass users and March 28th for normal users on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

A new game mode is coming to Battlefield 1 with its first paid DLC pack They Shall Not Pass. The mode is Frontlines and it introduces an interesting tug-of-war style of gameplay to multiplayer.

As showcased in a new video, Frontlines sees players competing over a series of objectives on a map. The first objective goes live in the middle of the map and to succeed, capturing these objectives one by one en route to the enemy’s base is paramount. Once at the base, two telegraph posts within the base must be destroyed.

This is while said posts are being used to call in artillery strikes by the enemy. If the posts are destroyed, the round is over and you win (conversely, if time runs out, you lose). If your side runs of reinforcements, then the battle begins for the objectives yet again.
