Despite being old, Bounder’s World isn’t for the faint of heart and requires much skill to navigate its kooky worlds. Every traditional platforming hazard known to man is available as you avoid moving hazards and collect stars and coins for the sake of the most coveted prize: a new high score. Of course, there are plenty of check-points, so you don’t have to worry about failure. After all, how else will you navigate the game’s +140 levels?

Selling for 69p, Bounder’s World is great for a blast from the past and any new-age gamer to pick up.

Thumbstar games has announced that Grumble and Piccolo’s Fishing Trip will hit the iOS and Android devices on 11th October. The publisher usually releases games on mobiles and is very efficient at that. The game offers complex gameplay and has two lovable characters and a comical story. It’s also a very accessible game.

Grumble & Piccolo are two adventurous penguins with a sense of entrepreneurship. They’ve set up their own fishing business, and must set sail to catch an intriguing variety of fish for some very bizarre customers!

To assist them, players must catch fish into their net in groups of three or more. Familiar and beautifully responsive swipe controls make this a lovely pick-up-and-play for match-3 enthusiasts, but there’s even more to the gameplay with the addition of some rather interesting fishing tools.

Boasting an “easy-to-pick-up-and play” style, Thumbstar seemingly wants to cater to the old-school arcade gamers. You know, the guy who racked up trillions of points on Galaga off a single quarter, and then proceeded to high score the entire list, before painting it with expletives. Or something.

Drag Tag Smash will be Thumbstar’s sixth published mobile gaming title this year and is lead by noted industry figures Martin and Gareth Edmondson. Needless to say, if you’ve ever wanted to go full on insane with an arcade romp or just kill some time on the way to work, Thumbstar’s efforts may be worth a look.

But Thumbstar Games’ new Skyrise Runner, a “ethereal endless-runner action” title could provide some extra weight to Android. It’s now available for the platform, at the low low price of £0.69p.

Skyrise Runner features 60 missions and even more challenges, as you make your way through the forests of Skyland, collecting crystal dn pwoer-ups to surmount the game’s numerous obstacbles and obstructions.

Platforming is very much the key here, but so is morphing into an eagle. Fancy that.

For an iOS title, the game features some richly textured 3D environments and fast paced action. It also marks a significant step forward for Thumbstar in furthering their profile.

With the upcoming release of Skyrise Runner, Thumbstar are into their fourth title since the announcement of their publishing arm earlier this year. Headed up by brothers Martin and Gareth Edmondson, formerly of Reflection Studios, Thumbstar’s portfolio continues to grow, with the promise of more exciting titles on the horizon.
