Koei Tecmo revealed some new gameplay footage of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity during its Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online showcase. The gameplay will look very familiar to fans of Musou games and Breath of the Wild as Link engages with hordes of foes on the plains of Hyrule. Check it out below (from 1:23:51 onwards).

A new trailer was also released, offering a look at Impa at a younger age. As a Seeker, Impa serves as an aide to Hyrule Castle and is friends with Zelda. As a playable character, she relies on Sheikah techniques like explosive tags and temporary clones. It’s a fairly interesting playstyle that will remind one of the Yiga Clan’s troops.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity releases on November 20th for Nintendo Switch. It’s set 100 years before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with Link, Zelda and the Champions battling against Calamity Ganon’s forces. Stay tuned for more details en route to its release.

As insider DuskGolem revealed recently, Capcom is looking to release Resident Evil Village for Xbox One and PS4. The news was confirmed during the publisher’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online showcase. There is a caveat though as it couldn’t promise that current-gen ports would actually be possible.

Resident Evil Village has had quite the storied development, at least if rumors are to be believed. It was reported that the game was playable from start to finish a year ago, at which point it was being developed as Resident Evil Revelations 3. However, after being received very well internally, it was allegedly reworked as the next mainline game in the series, which meant the team needed extra development time. Apparently, there have been troubles running the game on PS5, though PC and Xbox Series X have had better success.

Whatever the case may be, Resident Evil Village is currently slated to release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2021. The story sees Ethan running afoul of Chris Redfield, who’s seemingly turned bad, and exploring a strange village. This village features new werewolf-life enemies and other mysteries. PlatinumGames’ NieR: Automata continues to see healthy sales. On Square Enix’s TGS 2020 Online showcase (which you can see below), it confirmed that total worldwide shipments and digital sales have passed 4.85 million. This is up from the 4.5 million digital sales and shipments reported in March.

First released in March 2017, NieR: Automata launched for PS4 and then PC. It’s set in the future where humanity has been nearly wiped out and resides on the Moon while aliens and their Machines have overrun Earth. The plot follows androids 2B and 9S as they conduct missions, attempting to unseat Machines while learning more about them.

After garnering exceptional critical acclaim, NieR: Automata would come to Xbox One in June 2018. It received a Game of the YoRHa Edition in February 2019 which collected the base game and its DLC (currently 50 percent off for both PS4 and PC via Steam). While a sequel doesn’t seem to be in the works, Square Enix did confirm that NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 would be releasing in April 2021. Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online takes place later this month and while Capcom is prepping some news, including more Resident Evil Village details, we could be getting some announcements before that. According to AestheticGamer on Twitter (better known as Dusk Golem on ResetEra), the new Monster Hunter game on Switch will also be at the show. However, he notes that it should be “known about very soon.”

Details about the new Monster Hunter title, which is apparently running on a Switch-compatible version of RE Engine, were provided by AestheticGamer last month. He also revealed that a new Shenmue announcement would be coming along with a PS5 showcase in mid-September. Given how both have come true, it seems like only a matter of time before the new Monster Hunter is revealed.

Capcom doesn’t seem to have any other announcements for TGS 2020 though. There will be a Japanese-only announcement but apparently it “won’t be very exciting for anyone outside of Japan.” Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online is currently set for September 23rd to 27th. Capcom have already confirmed there will be new RE8 stuff at TGS, Monster Hunter Switch (which should be known about very soon) should also be there. So yes. There's one announcement I know which is Japanese only and won't be very exciting for anyone outside of Japan though.
