New story content, a new song and additional costumes detailed.

Atlus’s Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is out soon, bringing the underrated Wii U title to the Switch. As reviews start to pour in, Nintendo has outlined some of the new features in the Switch version including a variety of different costumes. This includes the “Rebellious Joker” outfit that makes Itsuka Aoi resemble Joker from Persona 5. Check it out below.

Other costumes include “Demonica Replica” from Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey and “Cross Bravery” from Etrian Odyssey Nexus for Yashiro and Eleonora respectively. Other features include new story content (titled simply “Extra Story”) and a new song called “She is…”. You can also expect Quick Sessions for cutting down on performance length and providing faster battles.

Faster load times are also a given with this port. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore releases tomorrow for the Nintendo Switch but even more Atlus titles are still to come, including Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. Developed by Omega Force as a Musou title with Persona-like storytelling, it’s out this February for PS4 and Switch.

The phantom thief has left his threads in the crossover game.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE was originally revealed as a crossover between the Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem franchises. It ended being entirely different than what anyone could have expected in a game infused with pop idols, music numbers and a lot of dress up. Now, though, it seems as if we’re in for a crossover within a crossover with a costume from a certain phantom thief in the Switch re-release of the game.

Blurry looks at the back boxart for the game surfaced which seemed to show a, as of now, unknown costume for Joker from Persona 5. We already knew the game was adding new story elements and costumes, so it seems this will be one of the new ones. Nintendo Everything managed to get a clean screenshot of the costume in-game, which you can see below.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will release on Nintendo Switch on January 17th. If you want to see more of Joker afterward, Persona 5 Royal is slated to release on March 31st for PlayStation 4.

Though in Japanese, both trailers offer plenty of new gameplay footage.

Atlus’ Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is coming to the Nintendo Switch after initially launching on the Wii U. Since it’s one of the bigger releases to start off 2020, it only makes sense that Nintendo would offer more details on its combat and setting. Check out the latest trailers below, though they’re in Japanese.

The story will be familiar to Shin Megami Tensei fans – an evil force has arrived in Tokyo and you need to venture through some dungeons to defeat it. Though the combat melds Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei, the actual Fire Emblem characters appear as Mirages. Use them to fight your foes (and yes, music is involved).

Performances and the usual references and nods to both franchises aside, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore should be a meaty role-playing game for Switch players. The Switch version will also include new costumes and songs on top of the base game. It’s out on January 17th, 2020 for the platform.
