Learn how to unlock every secret skater with this guide for both Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.

There are nearly 40 pro skaters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, with six secret skaters mixed in among them. Unlocking them requires a variety of criteria to be met. This guide lists all the secret skaters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 and how to unlock them.

Doom Slayer

Doom’s protagonist can only be unlocked by purchasing either the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade for the base game. Doom guy has a Park Style and a Goofy Stance.

Revenant

This Doom antagonist can only be unlocked by purchasing either the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade for the base game. Revenant has a Freestyle and a Regular Stance.

Michelangelo

One of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Michelangelo can be purchased from the Secret Shop for the steep price of $10,000. He has a Street Style and a Goofy Stance.

Andy Anderson

Canadian skater Andy Anderson is another purchase in the Secret Shop for a much more affordable $5,000. Andy has a Freestyle and a Goofy Stance.

Bam Margera

TV celebrity and former pro skater Bam Margera can be purchased for $5,000 as well, from the Secret Shop. Bam has a Street Style and a Goofy Stance, just like Michelangelo but for half the price.

Birdman

Birdman is unlocked from the Secret Shop but may not even be visible until you complete every goal on every stage. At that point, you will be able to buy Strange Feathers for $5,000 from the Secret Shop which actually unlocks Birdman for your roster. Birdie has a Park Style and a Goofy Stance.

Constable Richard

Not quite Officer Dick, Constable Richard is about as hard a task to unlock as the one required for Birdman. There is a single Panda Plushie secreted away on each of the game’s 19 stages, and all of these will have to be collected in order to unlock the option to buy Constable Richard for $5,000 in the Secret Shop. He has a Vert Style and a Goofy Stance.

Those are all the unlockable skaters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 and how you go about unlocking them.

Double Base Score

Simply doubles the base score of any trick to lessen the difficulty of challenges.

Stats

Adjust stats to modify the gameplay experience, either expert or super.

This mod is locked behind completion of every goal on every stage in the game. That will unlock the option to buy the mod for $5,000 in the Secret Shop.

Visual FX Mods

These cosmetic FX mods are graphical only and have no real bearing on gameplay.

The series' trick variety and sublime controls adorn these gorgeous remakes, but missing content ensures they're far from definitive.

It’s amazing what five years and an obligation to follow up on success rather than catering to fans’ desires can accomplish. When Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was released, it was widely hailed as a return to form for the series. Even if it used the first two titles as a base, the revamped visuals, additional content, implementation of mechanics from later games, and, most importantly, the return of most of the soundtrack made it a winner. Memories of the horrendous fifth entry were finally gone. Tony Hawk is officially back…until Activision folded Vicarious Visions into Blizzard and (allegedly) rejected its patch for remaking the third and fourth titles.

All these years later, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is real. The bravado, the new skaters, the same revamped visuals, Bam Margera – all of it is here. And yet, it’s a big step down from its predecessor – a baffling proposition considering how much of a step up the originals were. You’ll have fun attempting to master each level, completing all the goals, ticking off challenges, viewing classic moments through the lens of improved visuals, and maybe creating your own skate parks. However, considering how much the previous remakes delivered, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 doesn’t quite deliver on the same potential.

The positives should be most apparent as soon as you enter the tutorial. As a skating title, I don’t think any game can measure up to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater in terms of feel and responsiveness. Pro Skater 3 marked the introduction of hidden combos for grinds, flips and Manuals – double kickflips, double heelflips, the works – and the Revert for transitioning from a quarter-pipe trick into a Manual, effectively revolutionizing combo extension. Pro Skater 4 tossed in the ability to skitch or grab onto moving cars, which also provided a speed boost upon release; the Spine Transfer for leaping over a quarter-pipe onto another just behind it or landing on top; and further improvements to combo extensions.

As with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, everything from Pro Skater 4 is carried over into 3, vastly expanding on the trick combinations and combo opportunities in its levels. Granted, as with the originals, hitting those score goals – from the entry-level High Score to the relative mastery of a Sick Score – requires practice and knowledge of the environment. Every misstep and mistake feels especially gruesome, even if runs last for only two minutes, but when everything seamlessly chains together, there’s nothing quite like it. Some of the revised goals also help challenge long-time fans, like figuring out how to douse the Foreman in Foundry or grind the molten bucket.

Then you have the usual collection of the SKATE letters, finding the secret tapes, and obtaining all stat points to customize your preferred skater build on the fly – whether it’s all-in on balance while grinding rails or more airtime. Pro Skater 3 + 4 also features an impressive array of post-game content. New Game+ provides new Pro Goals (like hitting new Platinum Scores, spelling COMBO and performing dedicated tricks) and Expert Challenges. You can even embark on Solo Tours, which involves completing career tours with all characters.

And make no mistake, it’s a tall ask, given the sheer number of playable skaters. Legends like Tony Hawk, Chad Muska, Steve Caballero and Rodney Mullen are here, alongside contemporary skaters like Aori Nishimura, Tyshawn Jones and Nyjah Huston. However, you also have newcomers to the series, like Chloe Covell, Margielyn Didal, and Rayssa Leal. With each skater specializing in different stats and a healthy number of unlockable characters (both familiar and new), it’s a pretty deep roster to choose from. It would have been nice if Create-A-Skater offered more options, especially after Pro Skater 1 + 2, but at least there’s an ample amount of clothing to unlock.

The revamped visuals are also downright stunning, and that’s even without considering the overhauled textures, character models, environment quality and improved animations. The lighting and shadows bring a more natural feel to levels such as Foundry and even completely change the atmosphere of Rio and San Francisco. It’s almost enough to make you want to stop and observe every little new detail. And yes, while some levels are gone, the additions – Movie Studio, Waterpark – are enjoyable, seamlessly slotting into the current line-up.

With so much going in its favor, it would seem like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 is another winner like Pro Skater 1 + 2, but before you can dig into all the good stuff, there’s the revelation regarding Pro Skater 4’s Career Mode. As you probably already heard, it isn’t here, or rather, its levels have been converted to the same format as previous titles. Instead of exploring them freely, conversing with characters and obtaining goals, you have the standard list and a two-minute time limit, just like in Pro Skater 3. Can you have fun in these and admire the sheer fidelity?

Sure, but it’s not a remake of Pro Skater 4 by a long shot, even if you could extend the timer. The overall flow is simply different, and there’s little choice but to begrudgingly accept it. Regardless, considering the influence Career Mode had on subsequent titles and how much it made up the original game, it’s a shame that it didn’t receive the proper treatment.

It’s also simply impossible to reconcile with the soundtrack, which contains only ten songs from the original games. “Ace of Spaces” and “My Adidas” have been retained, thankfully, and some bands like Iron Maiden perform different tracks. But if you were hoping for The Offspring, System of a Down, AC/DC, Alien Ant Farm, Red Hot Chili Peppers and other iconic tracks, prepare to be disappointed. Tony Hawk has since claimed it was his idea to have new tracks by the returning artists, though I’m not sure if that also encompasses songs that are brand new to the series.

These new selections aren’t terrible (Alice in Chains for the win), but it further diminishes any semblance of the original games. If all this wasn’t enough, there are a few bugs in both games. I didn’t encounter frame drops in Pro Skater 4’s levels as some have reported, but there were cases of clipping through walls, going over quarter-pipes instead of back down (and ending up out of bounds or in the ocean). There’s also occasional screentearing in Performance Mode on PS5 (though Fidelity Mode seems mostly fine).

When looking back on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, it felt like a real labor of love, a desire to revive the original games for the current generation without compromising on their excellent gameplay. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is definitely in the same vein, especially when it comes to the roster, goals, post-game content, and visuals. However, whether it’s due to a mandate from management or simply because it lacked the resources, Iron Galaxy has pared down the experience in places where it counts the most. The results are complicated – you can still become embroiled in the thrill of completing goals and perfecting runs for the highest scores. The various bugs and screen-tearing issues will also doubtless be fixed, but it’s impossible to ignore just how much has been lost in the transition.

The remakes have scored well among many critics despite complaints regarding the soundtrack and Pro Skater 4's Career Mode.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, a remake compilation of the third and fourth games in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, is now available. Since it garnered significant positive acclaim from critics, a new accolades trailer is also live. Check it out below.

Much like its predecessor, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 features heavily revamped visuals. Everything, from the character models to the environments, animations, lighting and more, has been rebuilt from the ground up. The amount of content is also expanded with new skaters, three brand-new parks, and post-game Pro Goals and Expert Challenges.

Of course, there’s also been significant criticism from hardcore players regarding the removal of Pro Skater 4’s Career Mode. Its levels follow the same time-restricted format as previous titles rather than allowing players to explore the environment and converse with NPCs. There’s also the utter gutting of the soundtrack, which you can learn more about here.

It’s available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can also play it on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

You also get three days of early access, DOOM-inspired designs for your skate deck, tracks from the series to play in-game, and more.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is real and out this Summer with the Standard Edition retailing for $49.99 with access to previous and current-gen versions on consoles. The $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition will likely turn more heads since it includes the Doom Slayer and Revenant from the DOOM series as playable skaters. Check them out in the trailer below.

Each character has two unique special tricks (including the Revenant’s classic “doot”), while the Slayer gets the Unmakyr Hoverboard. You can also listen to tunes from the original and contemporary titles and customize your skate decks with DOOM-themed designs. Some cosmetics for customizing your Create-A-Skater are also included.

If that wasn’t enough, Digital Deluxe (and Collector’s) Edition owners get three days of early access to the title. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 launches on July 11th or Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more gameplay in the coming months.

Developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, the remasters include cross-play, new modes and parks, custom goals in Create-A-Park, and more.

It’s official: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is coming this year if the rumors and recent game rating didn’t tip you off. Launching on July 11th, it will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Game Pass subscribers can also play on day one.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 remasters the third and fourth titles in the series, which are meaty enough on their own. However, it also adds new modes and parks. Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park have been expanded, with the latter now allowing custom goals, while New Game+ is available with more challenges.

Of course, there’s also cross-platform multiplayer for up to eight players. The visuals have also been remastered with 4K resolution support. Unlike Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 (which was developed by Vicarious Visions), Iron Galaxy Studios helms Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.

The remaster compilation allegedly launches for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch with the Doom Slayer as a bonus skater.

While a timer counts down to a potential Tony Hawk remaster, insider billbil-kun has already reported details for the same. It’s apparently Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, as indicated in a recent rating by the IMDA in Singapore, and launches on July 11th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.

The Standard Edition will allegedly retail for $49.99 but it’s the $69.99 Deluxe Edition that’s more intriguing. It apparently includes DOOM’s Doom Slayer and Revenant as bonus skaters, in-game music and the Unmakyr Hoverboard. The Foundry also seemingly gets a separate demo, just like the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.

There’s also apparently a Collector’s Edition that will cost $129.99. Deluxe and Collector’s Edition owners will also reportedly receive three days early access.

With the countdown expiring at 10 AM PST today, we’ll learn more official details soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out our review for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

Ahead of a mysterious announcement on March 4th for the franchise, the IMDA in Singapore has leaked the upcoming remaster.

While the timer counts down on the official Tony Hawk website, it seems the mysterious announcement has already leaked. Discovered by Kurakasis on Twitter, the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore rated Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch for a release this year.

The announcement is probably unsurprising for many players since Vicarious Visions reportedly pitched a remastered compilation of both titles (which Activision rejected). Given the positive response to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, it makes sense to follow that up with remastering the third and fourth games.

Stay tuned for more details when the announcement occurs on March 4th. Though we don’t know what changes and improvements it could offer (aside from potentially featuring Chicago as a level), it could be helmed by Iron Galaxy Studios. The developer assisted Vicarious on the Steam version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

The website is counting down to a potential announcement on March 4th and lists Iron Galaxy Studios alongside Activision.

After a mysterious banner for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, a countdown has cropped up on its official website. Like the banner, it’s counting down to something on March 4th, specifically 11:30 AM PST.

There are a few more clues to infer from this – alongside the Activision logo at the bottom is Iron Galaxy Studios, which could be working on this new project. The studio co-developed the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 alongside Vicarious Vision. The website’s address also mentions Chicago, potentially indicating the level’s inclusion (following its remastered appearance in the last title).

Rumors have circulated about the countdown being for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, a remastered compilation of the third and fourth games in the series. Pro skater Tyshawn Jones also revealed he’s in a new Tony Hawk remaster, though he didn’t specify if it was for the Pro Skater series. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the coming weeks.
