A live action trailer for Sunset Overdrive?! Sure. Why not. Live action trailers are still cool, right?

So look, this trailer is good. Don’t get me wrong, the production values are high, the overall mood (one of suppressed insanity) and theme fit perfectly with how the game feels, and the general aesthetic is spot on. But man, this is not a fun thing to watch. It’s good, but not fun.

Now I know it’s meant to be goofy, its intentionally wacky, I get it. But I want everyone on that set to just stop what their doing and say, “hey, this is Sunset Overdrive” and then show me more of the game. Perhaps I’m just grumpy or perhaps the Irish just don’t like this sort of thing. I know my friends don’t!

But anyway. Sunset Overdrive is an absolutely awesome, lunatic open world action shooter that is being developed by the great folks over at Insomniac Games and it’s an Xbox One exclusive! Choke on that “The Order 1886”.

Sony press conference will be occurring on Monday, June 10th at 6 PM Pacific and will last for about 2 hours. Get ready to see new next-generation beginning of PlayStation 4. Sony will also squeeze in some new PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita announcements.

I am betting my money that the majority of the time will be spent on showcasing the PlayStation 4 hardware itself, teasing new next-gen titles, new tech demos and of course demonstrating the functionality of the new and updated PlayStation Network on the PlayStation 4.

This is going to be an enormous day for everyone in the gaming industry, including the journalists, gamers and game companies across the entire world and of course Sony themselves.

E3 2013 is almost here ladies and gentlemen, come aboard the hype-train the party is just getting started.

The trailer is two minutes long and showcases the atmosphere, emotion and tone of the game. You play as a boy in Rain who gets lost and then later becomes invisible.

The game is set as a mysterious adventure that tries to convey the feeling of being lonely, lost and confused. Judging by the trailer the developers have done a great job at creating a depressing tone and mystery at the same time.

It’s hard to understand exactly what is being shown. The most intriguing part to me was when they showcased PlayStation 3 controllers and PlayStation Vita being used together to play Dragon’s Crown, how exactly that works was a bit hard to tell, but we will see when the time is right.

Dragon’s Crown will be releasing exclusively for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on August 6th for $49,99. The game has a beautiful art-style and particularly compelling game mechanics. We’re looking forward to playing this game and checking it out.

Nintendo has released a US commercial for Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

The commercial summarizes Animal Crossing: New Leaf as a personal and customizable town. Where players take on a role of Mayors and have complete control over their city.

You can decide on how everything grows, what kind of designs you want for your furniture, clothing and housing. Then there is the social aspect in Animal Crossing: New Leaf where you can invite your friends to show them your city and vice versa.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be available on June 9th in North America for the Nintendo 3DS.

Today is quite a big day for the fans of the Batman video game franchise. The Debut CG trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins is finally here as it was previously teased a week ago by the developers releasing a snippet video. Along with the new official trailer we also get brand new screenshots and the finalized boxart for the following platforms: PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360 and the Wii U. Downloadable content plans have also been revealed earlier today by the Creative Director Eric Holmes during an interview with GameInformer magazine. Just a day before Microsoft’s next big event which will be occurring tomorrow to reveal the next-generation Xbox, Sony has put up a teaser trailer for their PlayStation 4 hardware reveal, price and of course the release date at their E3 2013 press conference.

The teaser trailer zooms in slowly on a black box on a white background suggesting that the black box is the hardware itself or the console is hidden behind it. It’s a bit difficult to tell, but it’s clear enough that Sony is teasing the physical look of the PlayStation 4.

This E3 will be very special, it’s not every day that we get to see next-generation leaps and new platforms. PlayStation 3 was released back in November of 2006, and it has been seven years since then. It kind of makes me sad because it just shows how fast the time flies and back then I remember how we thought it was amazing. The next-generation leap is quite big, and it’s hard to imagine what the next-next-generation will be like. With that being said, lets not get too far ahead of our-selves and enjoy what has to come in the near future, with the same token though it’s always exciting to think about the far future.

My friends, this is a new beginning so get ready, it will be phenomenal. Let us know how hyped you are for E3 2013 and the new generation as a whole.

From now on every Wednesday, Trendy Entertainment will showcase a new character for the Dungeon Defenders 2’s player-versus-player mode. Today is the first day that the developers showcase Man and Machine hero.

Here is a fact sheet for Dungeon Defenders II:

•  – The game is split into two different parts, Competitive and Co-operative.

•  – Co-operative mode will stay true to the original Dungeon Defenders and what made it a tremendous success.

•  – Competetive mode will be in the form of MOBA which is similar to League of Legends and Defense of the Ancients 2. However, Trendy Entertainment will be making this more RPG-ish

• – Game is planned to be launched with a total of 24 heroes.

•  – The PvP mode is currently in closed beta, and you can sign up if you’re interested in the game and want to get on the waiting list.

•  – The game will be free-to-play, with micro-transactions and will be coming out sometime next year.

Overkill Software confirmed today an August release date for their upcoming sequel of the multiplayer bank robbery game Payday 2.

The developer has also confirmed that the title will also ship to retailer stores in physical form to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, along with digital release on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store. However, the PC version will only be available digitally via Steam.

The company said that they’ve made noticeable tweaks over the original Payday: The Heist. Meanwhile, the size of the new game has been increased, which drove Overkill Software to release the game in physical form.

Ubisoft have released a new trailer for Assassins’s Creed IV: Black Flag that introduces the Golden Age of Piracy and numerous historical pirate characters. Ubisoft have also announced a Blackbeard figurine that can now be pre-ordered from www.uplay.com

The publisher has also said:

We’re staying away from clichés,” lead content manager Carsten Myhill said earlier this year. “Things like walking the plank, parrots on the shoulder and hooks for hands.

“We are giving pirates the HBO, reality treatment. No longer is it for kids.”

– Story and some Gameplay Details –

• In Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, players will take on a role of Edward Kenway the feather of Haytham Kenway from Assassins’s Creed III.

• Edward Kenway will be able to traverse between three different cities, an open-world jungle that’s similar to the frontier from Assassin’s Creed III and Edward will be able to swim under the sea in the Caribbean to look for treasure and more that we don’t know of yet.

• The three cities are called: Kingston, Havana and Nassau

• The whole world in Assassins’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be entirely seamless without any loading screens once you’re loaded into the game’s world.

• Naval battles will be taken to a whole new level because players will be able to close in on enemy ship and board it to attack it or fight the old-fashioned way if they wish.

• Jackadaw  is the name of your main ship and will be upgradeable throughout the entire game as you progress.

• Multiplayer is confirmed and will take place on land-only with new settings and game modes.
