The next free slate of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe will be coming up on June 5th and Sony has announced what they can expect. PS4 players get Firaxis’s XCOM 2 and Ubisoft’s Trials Fusion, both strong releases with tons of content to play through.

XCOM 2 takes place directly after the first modern title and sees the aliens taking over the planet, establishing a dystopian regime. As the Commander, it’s your job to guide the resistance on a variety of missions and eventually topple the aliens. Trials Fusion is a more futuristic bent for the franchise, taking place in the year 2042, but still featuring a lot of the platforming/racing that players love.

Along with these games are two PS3 titles – Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Zombie Driver HD Complete Edition – along with PlayStation Vita games – Squares and Atomic Ninjas. All of these games will be available when the PlayStation Store refreshes on Tuesday so stay tuned.

Pour one out for all the Xbox One controllers lost to these 15 games.

There’s so much choice out there for a gamer these days, it’s hard to know where to go for the best experiences for what you like in particular. Some of us love those grand stories and movie productions that other companies get, but there’s those enthusiasts among us who like a game to bend us, and even break us from time to time, not to mention a few controllers. If you’re that type of gamer, let us tell you why Xbox One is your One place to play. Did we forget any great ones? Let us know in the comments.

N++

Xbox One might not be anyone’s first thought when they want a hardcore platform game, but there’s a surprising amount to be found. N++ is Metanet’s follow up to XBLA darling N+ and though it originally launched as a PS4 and PC title, the return to the Xbox Platform has the minimalistic ninja runner as gloriously, and infuriatingly hard, as it ever was.

Awesome Level Max may have been conceived on acid.

Trials Fusion will be getting a brand new expansion, called Awesome Level Max, which was announced back at E3, and this is the first look we have had at its gameplay. It… appears as though it is exceptionally bizarre. It will will let you play as a cat riding a unicorn, which is, well, a pretty significant change from the ATVs and motocross bikes that you normally use in Trials. The cat will be wearing a bandana, and it also carries a pistol.

What’s more, it appears as though players will also be able to use the unicorn alongside others using bikes in the game’s multiplayer mode, so you’re not limited to keeping this absurdity to yourself. The unicorn will have the same physics as bikes when riding it.

I mean, I think at this point it is pretty clear that they were tripping hard when they came up with this.

Awesome Level Max will launch on July 14 for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

The final DLC for the game is out now.

Ubisoft has gone ahead and released ‘After The Incident,’ the final of six planned DLC packs for their motocross platforming game Trials Fusion. The DLC pack brings 10 new tracks, 24 challenges, five trophies, and new objects for the track editor to the game, and it is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PCs running Windows.

As always, you can get ‘After The Incident’ for free if you already owned the Season Pass; if you did not, and would rather buy the DLC piecemeal, it is also available individually, on its own. if you would like to buy the Season Pass now, you can also do that instead, and get access to the other five pieces of DLC in the process as well.

Developed by RedLynx in collaboration with Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev, Trials Fusion has sold over 1.7 million copies and offers players an unlimited array of obstacles and challenges as they race against the clock to set track records. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage.

If you miss F-Zero or Wipeout, this will be right up your alley.

The fifth of six planned DLC packs for Ubisoft’s motocross racer/platformer, Trials Fusion, is now out. It is called Fault One Zero, and it sees players race through the futuristic city of Megalopolis where man and machine are only distinguishable by their medical records. Players will race through holographic cityscapes, testing facilities, assembly lines, retro gaming areas and a robot dumping ground to navigate their way through Megalopolis. Basically, if you’ve had a hankering for either F-Zero or Wipeout (both franchises that are, sadly, dead), then this should work great to satisfy at least some of that itch.

Fault One Zero brings with it 10 new tracks, 24 challenges, five trophies, and new objects for the track editor; it is out right now for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as for the PC version of the game, and will be available for the PlayStation 4 version as soon as the store updates.

Check out the trailer to see the new DLC in action for yourself.

As part of a free update.

Ubisoft’s motocross game, the acclaimed and successful Trials Fusion, will be getting online play as part of a free update next week, Ubisoft announced today. Online play will be available in four or eight player online modes, and will be accompanied by a spectator mode, as well as new game modes, such as the Online X Supercross mode, the Private game mode, and also the addition of leaderboards into the game.

In addition to all of this, the largest content pack for the game yet will also be made available next week with Fire In The Deep, which will add a staggering 11 new tracks, five new achievements and trophies to unlock, 27 new track challenges, and dozens of new editor objects. Season Pass holders will receive immediate access to Fire in the Deep when it is available on January 27, while players without the Season Pass will be able purchase it for a paltry £3.99.

So see, guys, this would be one instance of DLC and post game support done very well. The shocking part is that it is coming from Ubisoft.

Trials Fusion, the incredibly fun and slightly addictive physics based racer, has received a free update today thanks to the developers at Ubisoft. The update finally delivers the chance for players to form a team that will allow them to compete against their opponents, letting them claw their way up the leader boards and ultimately, win nothing more than bragging rights.

Teams will number a maximum of 50 players represented by a team name and team emblem. The team will have a shared bulletin board for communication and separate teams can compete against each other in private games in the upcoming online multiplayer. The Beta for online multiplayer starts today and will include the three following game modes.

Online X Supercross – This gameplay mode allows up to 8 separate players to race against each other across 3 randomly selected tracks. The winner is decided based on total cumulative score.

Private Game – Private games are matches with a total of 8 players racing on a selected track with predetermined race parameters.

Private Game With Spectators – The same as a regular Private Game, but with viewers.

RedLynx promises a PC beta for the same before the official update.

RedLynx continues to update Trials Fusion with new maps, modes and challenges by way of DLC but the developer has announced that in its next free update it will be adding 8 person multiplayer support, completely free. There will be a PC beta for the mode before its official release later this year.

In case you’re worried how this is going to work in terms of camera placement, the developer explained how it would work on UbiBlog. “When you play multiplayer, you want to see where the other riders are at all times. You don’t want them to get in front of your camera. Knowing this, we designed the new online multiplayer to have the player always be closest to the camera. To ensure everyone sees themselves as the closest rider, we render your rider on a different driving lane than the one your friends will see you on when they are playing with you.

“This also makes it possible to now have up to eight players at the same time, all of whom will always be visible on the screen but never in your way. We’re really stoked about it, and early tests already show it’s a blast.”
