A leaked Trophy list for the PS4 version seems to indicate new details.

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be out in about a month but some new details may have been revealed courtesy of its PS4 Trophy list. According to the list, which has been composed by Exophase, Black Ops 3 will include a new “Realistic” difficulty. Call of Duty titles normally rely on four difficulty modes with Veteran being the toughest but Realistic may take this even further.

It also seems that Dead Ops Arcade, the overhead shooter seen in the first Black Ops, will be making a return. There are minor spoilers relating to multiple aspects of Black Ops 3 such as the campaign and Zombies so check out the full list at your peril.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be releasing on November 6th for Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. While the current gen versions will include the campaign (which supports four player co-op), competitive multiplayer and Zombies mode, the previous gen versions will only have the multiplayer and Zombies mode. What are your thoughts on the new difficulty and the return of Dead Ops Arcade? Let us know in the comments.

For those of you who find Galahad’s turning animation distracting or annoyingly fast, rest easy as you can tweak the speed in the options menu of the game. Ready At Dawn’s community manager J Goldberg revealed on NeoGaf that players can tweak Look, Aim and Scope Sensitivity options which will affect how quickly the player turns during normal movement, aiming and scoping respectively.

Furthermore, Goldberg has requested players not to leak the game for others while confessing that he is a bit angry with the video leaks. Recently a full hour of The Order: 1886 was leaked on Youtube and whilst Sony did their best to take them out it did not proved to be enough as a number of versions are still available on Youtube for viewing.

Also, it seems that the press tour of The Order: 1886 has kick started. Ready At Dawn’s Andrea Pessino has shared a number of images on his Twitter feed showcasing the the press events he is attending. He also managed to share an awesome artwork created by a street artist. Check it out below.

Obtaining Trophies in the upcoming PS4 exclusive seems to be a fairly easy task.

Ready At Dawn’s The Order: 1886 is one of the major releases of this month and will mark the first big exclusive for the PlayStation 4 in 2015. Some users have already gotten their hands on the game though and revealed their Trophy progress.

What’s interesting about the progress of one such user, TacFIN, is that 20 out of the 22 Trophies in the game were earned in about 24 hours or may be even less. The only two Trophies to remain are collecting all the phonograph cylinders (classified as Ultra Rare) and the Platinum Trophy earned from collecting all the other Trophies in the game. So essentially, if you take out a day or so, playing continuously, you can easily obtain all the Trophies in The Order: 1886 without much fuss.

This may vary from user to user but the trophy set does not look to be challenging. The Order: 1886 is out on February 20th for PS4. Stay tuned for more information on the game as we near its launch. For more on The Order: 1886 check out our hub page here.

Thanks, Reddit user hvitdverg.

Hail OCD!

Sometimes, merely enjoying a game for the heck of it is not enough. You tend to seek more. To satiate this desire came the achievement system on the Xbox. This was followed suit by Sony in 2008 when they introduced the trophy system for the PS3. BUt gauging the rarity and exquisiteness of a trophy was quite difficult. Until the PS, i.e. With the Ps4, Sony had inculcated a global tracking system that records the rarity of a trophy based on the number of users who manage to obtain them amongst the total number of users who own a said game.

Here’s a compilation of PS4 trophies that have been rated as recherche. Some of these trophies are very easy to attain but still somehow manage to elude from the grasp of normal users; even completionists for that matter.

15. FIFA 14 – A Legendary Performance

This trophy demands that a player be trailing behind on the scoreboard on legendary difficulty, and then make a comeback after half the match’s done to win this game.

While it certainly is a daunting task, but you can take a top rated team for yourself and throw your CPU opponent some low tier team to scour the ground with. You can also make this trophy rather easy for yourself by tweaking the game settings to make your opponents act like suffering from Down Syndrome.

Ex-Sony UK developer Kenny Linder clarifies why every game doesn't need a Platinum Trophy.

Red Barrels’ Outlast is due for the PlayStation 4 next month and will be available for free on PlayStation Plus. However, as the game’s Trophy List has been revealed [4 Bronze, 2 Silver and 2 Gold], many have questioned as to whether it isn’t a tad on the empty side.

Former Sony UK developer Kenny Linder, who worked at BigBig Studios, has commented on the same. When compared to Resogun, which has a Platinum, Linder stated that, “Again, the game has complexity, online co-op, leaderboards, different ships. If someone could say exactly what Outlast has to it, it might be easier to talk about.”

After it was explained that the game is more about atmosphere and is overall quite linear, Linder stated that, “That sounds like it falls into “Small Scope Game” by Sony, so will would have the smaller Trophy set.”

Some feel that the game should have had a Platinum Trophy, but as Linder says, “It doesn’t work like that, it’s dependent on game size, you can’t give any game a full Trophy set. The game must be quite short/small, hence the base set.”

Hotline Miami was also given as an example of a small game that can be Platinumed but Linder responded that, “As a developer myself I can say it’s not down to the developer, the game has to fit into the criteria set by Sony. I’ve not played Outlast so I don’t know how big the game is, but Hotline Miami has a fair amount to it.

“Reasonably decent sized main game, lots of different weapons, different ways to play the game, in-depth ranking system etc. Outlast might be a much simpler game, perhaps more like Limbo or Thomas Was Alone in complexity. And by size, I didn’t mean download size!”

Finally Linder clarified that Sony indeed has no input on how many Trophies third party developers implement in their games (as is the case with Contrast, which has 21 Bronze Trophies). “Sony do not have input on what developers put in their games (besides a few no brainers), but there are rules regarding Large and Small scope games.

“There is also basic maths that you use to work out how many Trophies you can have in a game, and limits to how many of a certain Trophy type you can have (linked to the maths part). I would go into it further, but nobody seems to be listening anyway.”

Does any of this take away from the fact that Outlast is an incredible game and you shouldn’t be worried about what meaningless accolades you pick up from it? Not at all but we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Handheld trophies to focus on 3DS titles, while Wii U trophies focuses on home consoles.

Super Smash Bros. is slowly taking shape en-route to its release this year for the 3DS and Wii U. Director Masahiro Sakura recently revealed that both games will have different trophies, with the 3DS version to feature more handheld games and the Wii U to concentrate more on home console titles.

Writing on MiiVerse, Sakurai stated that, “There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models. The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games.”

One example is Saria from The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time 3D, which you can check out below.

We, for one, applaud this decision since one of the bigger appeals of Smash Bros. single-player modes has been unlocking the various trophies from past and present Nintendo games. Those who purchase the game for both the 3DS and Wii U can thus look forward to twice as many extras. What do you think about this decision? Let us know below.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will bring back the Final Fantasy you all know and love…well, sort of, for the PS3 and PS Vita. As the first Final Fantasy title for the PS2, Final Fantasy X focused on Tidus and Yuna as they journeyed a mysterious world in order to combat a menace known as Sin.
Gran Turismo 6 may be releasing on the PlayStation 3 rather than, say, launching for the PlayStation 4. But it’s good news for PS3 gamers, since it offers another high-end exclusive in a year full of them. GT6 amps up the visuals and car selection significantly this time around, even allowing you to race on the Moon for the first time in the series (and video games in general we believe). But more than anything, Gran Turismo is about the accolades. The licences, the trophies and the sweet cars you can unlock for your garage.

There are also the virtual Trophies you can bag upon successful completion of tasks within the game. Exophase has released a full list for the Trophies within GT6, which you can check out below.
