At this point, looking at their market capitalization, any big company can buy THQ. You only need $100 million to buy them out and take their cool IPs like Saints Row and Darksiders.

They recently shipped an Udraw tablet for the PS3 and Xbox 360, which failed to meet sales expectations, resulting in them slashing their outlook for Q3 2012 by 25%. They are expecting net sales for $510 million compared to $550 million that they forecasted earlier.

“Despite uDraw’s strong success on the Wii in fiscal 2011 and market research indicating strong demand for uDraw on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, initial sales of our uDraw tablet and software on these high-definition platforms have been weaker than expected,” said Brian Farrell, president of THQ.

“WWE 12 and Saints Row: The Third are expected to perform at or better than the levels we discussed on our fiscal 2012 second quarter earnings call. As we continue to move through the third quarter, we are focused on driving sales of our key holiday titles and maximizing profitability.”

The uDraw GameTablet for Xbox 360 and PS3 is scheduled to be available in time for the holiday season, joining the uDraw for Wii – which is now available worldwide – as the ultimate creative device for video game consoles.

With the release of uDraw GameTablet, THQ has received a lot of welcome buck for bang. uDraw is, fortunately for THQ, a hit. A big hit. So much so that THQ has taken a three times jump with its release:

Michael Brown says: “Shares of THQ Inc. jumped on nearly three times their usual volume following indications of a strong launch for its uDraw sketching game and tablet product for Nintendo’s Wii gaming system.”

“THQ is up because their uDraw game is currently #7 on Amazon’s top 100 list, and it’s been moving steadily up since release on Tuesday,” said Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter told TheStreet in an emailed statement. “I think the market is reacting to a long-awaited hit, and their timing in front of holiday is really good.”

Pretty impressive. Let’s see if this can keep it up.

THQ have released a Wii accessory named uDraw, which can be used to draw (what else). With uDraw you can enjoy drawing based games on the Wii, and save their creations on SD cards, and print their paintings and show it to their friends and family. uDraw will most probably be priced at $69.99, which is its suggested retail price, and will come bundled with the game, uDraw Studio.

THQ is also releasing two new games that will support uDraw- Dood’s Big Adventure in which “gamers of all ages enjoy an exciting drawing-inspired side-scrolling adventure.” The other game is Pictionary, which, THQ says, comes to game consoles after two decades. Pictionary for uDraw has already been “hailed by Parenting, Family Circle and Good Housekeeping as one of the best Wii games for kids and families,” THQ claims.

Both these games will come at a price of $29.99.

uDraw is expected to launch in Europe next year, as are uDraw games.

THQ Chief Executive Officer Brian Farrell says, “We’re delighted to work closely with Nintendo on the uDraw GameTablet, which gives Wii owners a fantastic creative outlet this holiday season. uDraw makes a perfect, affordable holiday gift that encourages artistic expression alongside great gaming experiences that are fun for the whole family.”

THQ has also released some information on the uDraw GameTablet:
