Aside from Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher dev will release another story-driven title by 2021.

During its management board report on 2017 activities, CD Projekt RED talked about Cyberpunk 2077, it’s upcoming sci-fi RPG that it plans to showcase at E3 2018, along with its plans for the same. The game itself has a release time frame of 2017 to 2021 – and since it’s currently 2018, it seems like more time will be taken.

Though Cyberpunk 2077 is a fairly big deal for the company, it does have something else in development. As per the studio, it has an unannounced, triple-A story-driven RPG that it plans to release in the same window. At most, we can expect it by 2021.

No further details were provided but is it too much to ask for a new Witcher title that has Ciri in a central role? That would be fairly cool, especially given the ending of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Smart money’s on this being a new intellectual property though. Along with these two games, the developer is also busy with collectible card game Gwent: The Witcher Card Game which is out this year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The Fable developer is keeping mighty busy these days.

Lionhead Studios made waves when it revealed that it was working on unannounced games that wouldn’t be set in the Fable-verse. Now, more details are coming out about the same through job listings for the studio. A listing for Senior Graphics Programmer indicates that an Xbox One game is in the works and involves the use of Unreal Engine 4.

“Lionhead Studios is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graphics Programmer to be a key contributor on an unannounced title for Xbox One. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about games and graphics and has experience working on modern rendering engines (DX11 or equivalent), someone with a natural affinity for CPU and GPU optimisation and an eye for visual quality.

“The role involves Unreal Engine 4, so experience with UE3 and especially UE4 is an advantage but not necessarily required. Although we’re using a third party engine, we’re developing a significant amount of graphics tech in-house, so we need someone can join the team and help us push the boundaries of next-gen console hardware.”

What could it be, and will it break the Fable mold that Lionhead has so comfortably enclosed itself in? We’ll find out in the coming months.

More information will seemingly arrive a month later.

Rocksteady Studios may have seemingly fallen off the face of the Earth following their critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham City, with WB Games Montreal handling the recently released Batman: Arkham Origins. However, according to screenshots that have emerged from IGN Benelux writer Jan Meijroos’s Twitter account (courtesy NeoGAF), Rocksteady is apparently showcasing its newest game to the press.

The tweet was quickly deleted and indicates the studio’s address. Meijroos was asked about what he was having a look at and replied that he couldn’t offer any information until a month later.

There have been rumours that Rocksteady is working on the next sequel to Batman Arkham, with this game to be a true sequel to Arkham City (Arkham Origins acting as the prequel in the trilogy). It could be that they’re working on something completely different as well. We’ll have to wait and find out. Stay tuned in the coming month for more details.
