Spike recently announced that they will be holding the annual Video Game Awards in December, and along with several other major titles, an all new BioWare franchise developed by a new studio will also be revealed. Game Informer has now gone ahead and given us the first look of the game- the image above.

As CVG has pointed out, it definitely does look a lot like Uncharted. It seems to be showing off an over the top crash and a dramatic set piece moment, two hallmarks of the Nathan Drake franchise. It’s also set in a desert-like environment, just like the recently released Uncharted 3 mainly was.

Well, we don’t have to speculate much longer now, since this franchise will be revealed very soon anyway. The Spike Video Game Awards will be held on December 10, and all our questions will be answered.

This year at the Spike 2010 Video Game Wards, as I mentioned before, they had a ‘black carpet’ rather then a red on.  Pretty sure it’s because they didn’t want to buy a red carpet.. no offense Spike.  Along the carpet were stars and mostly nominees that night being that the TRON Movie Premiere was going not far from the VGA’s.  Running low on battery power I caught as much as I could with the help of the staff from Mahalo Games, Classic Game Room and 343’s Halo Waypoint.

Appearance include Ali Hillis who did the voice over for Liara in Mass Effect, Lightning in Final Fantasy 13 and Dr Ariel Hanson in Starcraft 2 among others while the female voice of Commander Sheppard(Mass Effect 2) is to her right.  Olivia Munn is also being interviewed along with Joe Tung fro Bungie (Halo Series), Felicia Day, creator and star in The Guild web show, as well as the God War Trilogy composer, Gerard K. Marino which he compsed with two batons for God War 3 in inspiration of the games main character Kratos, duel wielding swords.

As for everyone else like Denise Richards, Nathon Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris, they moved quickly to avoid all our attempts to speak with them.. almost caught Cliff Blesinski from Epic Games until he ran off as well.  I will have my Epic Games interview part 3… oh I will.

New York, NY, November 17, 2010 – Spike TV today announced the nominees, categories and two world premieres for the 2010 “Video Game Awards” – the network’s annual live televised event to celebrate the best in games.  The eighth annual “VGAs” will be a global event, broadcasting in over 175 territories and countries around the world and gathering some of the most notable names in video games, Hollywood, music, sports and more to honor the outstanding achievements within the video game industry over the past year.  The two-hour event, taking place in Los Angeles, CA, will premiere LIVE on Spike TV Saturday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The 2010 “Video Game Awards” will feature global premieres of some of the most anticipated upcoming games, as well as unannounced titles, from some of the industry’s leading publishers.  This year, viewers will get an exclusive preview of “Batman: Arkham City,” where one of Batman’s deepest secrets will be revealed.  “Batman: Arkham City,” also a nominee for Most Anticipated Game, is the sequel to 2009 multiplatform blockbuster action-adventure hit “Batman: Arkham Asylum.”  Additionally, the next blockbuster title from acclaimed developer and Studio of the Year nominee, BioWare, will be unveiled at the show.  Acclaimed film director and Academy Award-Nominee Guillermo del Toro will unveil his upcoming video game franchise from THQ.

Leading the way with ten nominations is BioWare’s epic sci-fi RPG “Mass Effect 2,” including nods for Game of the Year, Best Xbox 360 Game, Best PC Game and Best RPG.  Rockstar Games’ Wild West action-adventure title “Red Dead Redemption” racked up nine nominations, including Game of the Year, Best Action Adventure Game, Best Graphics and Best Original Score.  Both Bungie Studios’ smash hit first-person shooter “Halo: Reach” and Activision’s blockbuster “Call of Duty: Black Ops” received seven nominations each, including Game of the Year, Best Shooter and Best Multi-Player.

Nominees for Spike TV’s 2010 “Video Game Awards” were determined by the VGA Advisory Council, made up of a group of some of the most well-respected video game journalists from media outlets such as Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, Kotaku, GameSpot, IGN, Game Informer Magazine, Penny Arcade, Joystiq and WIRED.  Games released between November 25, 2009 and November 23, 2010 were eligible for nomination.
