Neo Cortex is another villain with the incredibly original goal of destroying the world. He was bullied as a child and as a result wants to see the entire planet suffer. Thankfully a jorts wearing Bandicoot is there to stop him at every turn. The two have butted heads at every turn, with Crash always coming out on top.

A lot goes on behind the scenes of video games.

Games take a long time to make and a lot goes into making them. Because of this a lot of facts about games remain unknown to the general public, lost in the depths of interviews and documentaries. Here are the 15 most interesting and shocking video game facts you probably don’t know.

Note: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of, and should not be attributed to, GamingBolt as an organization.

The Voice of Mario Also Voiced The Dragon Paarthurnax In Skyrim

Charles Martinet is best known for voicing Mario but the voice actor has breathed life into many characters other than the nimble plumber. Most notably is the ancient dragon Paarthurnax in Skyrim. You wouldn’t think that Mario and this weathered wyvern share the same actor given the dragons deep, gravely tones, but it’s a testament to the versatility of Mr. Martinet.

Street Fighter may be the best example of a series that should solely exist in the second dimension. The intricate combos, precise spacing, and move inputs were all meant for opponents who were face-to-face. Street Fighter EX tried to improve the gameplay by putting combatants in a 3D arena where they could strafe around their foe. The result was a game that spat in the face of everything that Street Fighter stood for. Some series should just stay in the second dimension for their own good.

Over the years as video games evolved so have the powers of many protagonists. Some abilities became just too overwhelming, some were just too awesome, and some of them were just too darn over the top.

There were many video game characters who have some ridiculous abilities and this list will show you just how awesome and over the top some of these powers are.

The Biotic Force field is something to be reckoned with, because depending on the user, that force field can deflect almost any projectile, be it a barrage of missiles or a swarm of collector bugs looking to eat you alive. This video shows Samara using the force field in full effect and using the energy to kill the Collectors in one push.

A list of some of the physics in video games gone totally wrong

We really have to admit that physics can be really tricky and at the same time a lot of fun. A simple error can be enough to cause havoc and chaos. No game is perfect and it would take a very colossal system to handle every particle physics and code perfectly.

We have complied a list of some of the goofiest, creepiest and weird physics glitches in video game history. So take a look and see what game made the list when their physics engines went insane.

Do you agree with our list? Do you have anything else to add? Let us know in the comments section below.

100. Saints Row 3 HD – When Car Physics Go Wrong

The car in this particular scene jumps around like a jackrabbit. The Saints Row series is quite notorious for it’s bad physics and this video proves it. This physics glitch makes a car seem juiced up on rocket fuel.

Cliff Bleszinski who left Epic Games in 2012 has a few things to say about the state of the gaming industry. He feels that it’s in a turmoil and likened it to Super Smash Bros. of business.

It’s not clear whether he’s working on a game or not but a few studios have shown interest in him.

“This business has not been in a state of transition like it is right now since the video game crash of the ’80s. I really think we’re in a massive state of turmoil,” he told GamesIndustry.

“I think Nintendo could possibly be faced with the situation of becoming a company that only makes software moving forward. I think Sony and Microsoft are about to come to major blows. But at the same time, people love playing games on their iPad. The PC is going through a wonderful renaissance right now. I think we’re ready to do digital download games all the time.

“I just want to see what happens. In regards to the industry, it’s like the Super Smash Bros. of business right now, and I want to see if Peach or Mario wins.”

Well he is right in some aspects but that was an extreme thing to say about Nintendo.

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Which is even more essential, given how the US economy relies so much on computers.

At a time when video games are being blamed over mental health and restrictions on guns for school shootings, it’s good to see that at least US President Barack Obama is emphasizing the positive side rather than hopping on the bandwagon.

In a recent “Fireside Hangout”, President Obama said, “Look at Mark Zuckerberg. I was sitting next to him at dinner a couple of years ago, and he said he taught himself programming primarily because he was interested in games.

“If we set programs in high schools that engage kids because they get it, they won’t be just sitting there slouching in back of rooms while someone is lecturing.

“Given how pervasive computers and the internet is now, how integral it is in our economy, and how fascinated kids are with it, I want to make sure they actually know how to produce stuff and not simply consume stuff.”

The President had previously called for research and studies on whether violent video games influence real life crimes when addressing the spate of shootings that occurred in the country.

$10 million set for research.

President Obama is encouraging Congress to research the link between video games and violence. They have, for this reason, kept aside $10 million out of a $500 million fund allocated to reducing gun violence in the country.

This is due the Sandy Hook incident which left many children dead and was due to a shooter who liked Mass Effect 3. Well, there’s no relation between the game and his initiative to gun down a school but the motivation for the study is to find the relationship between the two.

“If there’s even one thing we can do to reduce this violence, if there’s even one life that can be saved, then we have an obligation to try it… I will put everything I’ve got into this, and so will Joe, but I tell you the only way we can change is if the American people demand it,” Obama said.

You can check out the speech below where Biden also gave a talk.

In the speech, president Obama puts forward a specific plan to protect our children and communities by reducing gun violence, introducing legislative and executive action that combined would close background check loopholes to keep guns out of dangerous hands; ban military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and taking other common-sense steps to reduce gun violence; make schools safer; and increase access to mental health services.

If you are an Australian, rejoice! Because vidoegames now have an R18+ rating, which means if you are an adult, you will be treated like one, and will be able to buy those games without the government saying they’re bad for you.

The legislation to approve the rating was passed in June, and it came into effect in December, which shows that their political process actually is quite fast.

“We’ve actually achieved a good balance where in effect MA15+ has become more restrictive and games that previously would have been in MA15+ are now going to be sitting in R18+,” South Australia’s Attorney-General, John Rau, said.

“It’s a win for the gamers who wanted to have the opportunity as adults to purchase these games, but it’s also a win for parents because they can be more confident that games that are age-inappropriate will not be available to people under 18.”

However, there’s a catch according to Mr. Rau.

“The regime still contemplates that some games will be so unsatisfactory that they will be refused classification altogether. Now, that will continue.”

So a good way to bypass the laws and refuse classification? Sounds great.
