Shadow the Hedgehog, Knuckles and Tails confirmed to return (naturally).

Walmart strikes again, this time leaking Sega’s next big Sonic racing game. It’s Team Sonic Racing and strangely enough, Sonic isn’t racing around on foot like the Sonic R of yore. Sorry, Sega Saturn fans.

The listing is for the Nintendo Switch but Xbox One, PS4 and PC releases can also be expected. On top of this, the game’s first screenshots (courtesy of ResetEra) have also been revealed. Check them out below and marvel at Shadow the Hedgehog’s sweet ride. From the cover art and screens, Knuckles and Tails are also confirmed.

What we don’t know is whether transformations, allowing players to go from land to sea to air racing in the middle of races – will be making a return. Furthermore, does the “team” aspect imply some kind co-operative mode, perhaps something akin to Onrush’s objective-focused racing? We won’t know until Sega officially announces the game but we can’t imagine they’re too happy about this leak.

A few days ago, some people decided to game the system and use Walmart’s price match policy to get PlayStation 4s for ridiculous prices. I mean, like $60 cheap prices. This happened because someone created a bogus third party listing on Amazon for the PlayStation 4 for ridiculously cheap prices; and since Amazon always displays the lowest prices on its web page (even if those prices are coming from a third party retailer or vendor), the system appeared to be $60 on the site. People could then easily go to Walmart and have them price match, according to their own price match policy.

Well, the gig is up, the scam is over, the fraud is done. Though you get to keep your PS4 if you managed to get it from Walmart for that nuts cheap price, Walmart itself has changed its price match policy to ensure that this will not ever happen in the future.

The new price match policy lists major online retailers it will price match, and also explicitly states that marketplace vendors, third-party sellers (one of the ways this ordeal started), retailers requiring a membership and auction sites including eBay aren’t eligible under the new revision.

Walmart confirmed that it had suffered major losses thanks to this entire scam, but it would not specify exactly how much.

A source close to Walmart claims the console will come out a week prior to PS4 in the US.

A source close to Walmart, a United States retailer, apparently leaked an email to Kotaku regarding the Xbox One’s release date being on November 8th. The source apparently works at a marketing company that works on creating signs and product placement for Walmart, with the release date being detailed in a company conference call regarding midnight openings planned across all retail stores for the console’s launch.

Of course, there’s no confirmation from Microsoft as usual. For its part, Amazon had a placeholder release date for most first party launch titles as being on November 27th, indicating that the Xbox One would release on the same date. Microsoft has only specified that the console will launch in November.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 will be launching on November 15th in North America, meanwhile, and on November 29th in Europe. Does November 8th make sense for Microsoft, given that one of its bigger titles – Call of Duty: Ghosts – will be releasing just a few days earlier on November 5th? Regardless, take this with a grain of salt, as usual.
