Bigben’s official racing game for the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship, namely WRC 6, will be releasing in October for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Developed by Kylotonn, the game will feature split-screen multiplayer and cover art that varies depending on the region.

Along with including all 14 WRC events, WRC 6 will also feature all the official drivers and teams, along with certain WRC 2 and Junior WRC drivers. You can check out screenshots for the game below, though they’re work in progress. Don’t take them as final results just yet.

WRC or World Rally Championship has been a fairly consistent October release for a few years now. This year’s iteration is developed by Kylotonn which also worked on last year’s WRC 5. Last year’s iteration had a staggered release, arriving on the Xbox One after other platforms. WRC 6 appears to be launching on all current gen platforms simultaneously and will be skipping the previous generation.

WRC 6 is set to drop in October. That means you get to cool your heels for another three months, while awesome titles like No Man’s Sky and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided hit the market. Bigben Interactive also confirmed that the game will launch on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Moreover, we’ve got our first gameplay trailer here. Feel free to check it out below!

Kylotonn Games, developers of Motorcycle Club, which was an, er, not so well-received motorcycle racing sim, are the team behind this title. Well, it’s not the worst motorcycle game ever. Road to Hell is the worst motorcycle game ever.

That being said, WRC 6 looks to be promising enough, if early in-game footage is anything to go by, and stands to become a nice, iterative addition to the series. Kylotonn Games promised improved graphics and audio, which is a given considering this is an eighth-gen exclusive launch. Moreover, the game features new Super Special Stages for intense, head-to-head racing experiences

Bigben Interactive have announced that they will be bringing the next major rallying game for this generation, WRC 6, to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this Autumn. The new game, which is being developed by Kylotonn, promises to introduce a “batch of new features” as well as improved graphics and audio, that will all help provide a “new level of realism and excitement”

“We spent the last 8 months, since the release of WRC 5, collecting and studying all the feedback from the community to improve the experience and take it to a new level,” said game director Alain Jarniou. “The experience gained from WRC 5 helped the team to completely understand the expectations of racing fans when it comes to rallying. Roads were too wide in WRC 5? They will be narrower and more bumpy in WRC 6. Stages were sometimes too short? We created new longer stages and reworked everything to make them longer and more challenging.

“These are just a few examples of the massive improvements we are bringing to WRC 6 and we already know that players will definitely appreciate these changes.”

More information on the game is expected at E3 next month.
