The epic journey of Kazuma Kiryu, at least on Xbox One and PC, continues with The Yakuza Remastered Collection now being available for both. It’s also out on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC along with the Microsoft Store and Steam. Check out the release trailer below to see it in action.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection contains three classic titles – Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 – all remastered and playable at 1080p/60 FPS. Some titles like Yakuza 3 have also seen cut content restored. All titles can either be purchased together with the collection or standalone.

Of course, the journey isn’t quite complete. Next up is Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which is out on March 25th for Xbox One and PC. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the latest chapter in the long-running saga and features a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, along with a turn-based combat system. It’s currently available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4 and PC with its PS5 version out on March 2nd.

Rumours have been circulating about the PS4 remasters for Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 receiving Western release dates at Gamescom. Sega has since confirmed the dates for all titles but also announced that Yakuza 3 Remaster is out now for PS4. Head on over to the PlayStation Store and pick it up now.

Yakuza 4 Remaster will be out on October 29th for PS4 while Yakuza 5 Remaster lands in February 2020. Furthermore, Sega has confirmed that there will be a physical release for all three games called The Yakuza Remastered Collection releasing in February 2020 as well. That’s a whole lot of Yakuza to keep one busy for the next few months.

There’s no announcement on when these games will be coming to PC. However, it’s good to see Sega ensuring that the entire collection is available for current gen platforms. Sega’s drive to bring the entire Yakuza series to modern consoles continues. With the original first two titles of the series having already been remade with the Kiwami treatment, and Yakuza 3 having been remastered and released in Japan, next up is Yakuza 4. Sega have released 31 new screenshots for its upcoming remaster, which you can take a look at below.

Characters, both major and minor, are shown off, while a lot of the screenshots also showcase a great deal of Yakuza’s iconic over-the-top combat. A few of the character models are looking a bit lacking in definition, which can be said of some of the environments as well, but all in all, it’s looking decent enough. This isn’t a remake, after all, only a remaster, and we can’t have the Dragon Engine treatment in every Yakuza game.

Recently, Sega also released a video for the Yakuza 4 remaster that showed off some of the game’s combat in action. You can take a look at it through here. Yakuza 4 Remaster is due out in Japan for the PS4 on January 17, 2019- no western release has been confirmed yet.

Sega’s Yakuza 4 Remaster has received its first gameplay trailer for PS4, showcasing its characters and the crazy combat that some of them excel in. If you’re a Yakuza fan, this should be pretty familiar to you. However, the trailer also provides a decent look at how the remaster is shaping up for PS4.

Currently, there’s no Western release date for the game. It will be coming to PS4 in Japan on January 17th, 2019. The Yakuza series has been fairly successful worldwide, though, so it should only be a matter of time before a western release is announced. As of December 2016, total shipments for the series were at 9 million units worldwide. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life was also noted recently for selling as many units overseas as it did in Japan.

Yakuza 4 Remaster won’t be exactly the same game that PS3 players remember. Masayoshi Tanimura, one of the new protagonists, has been recast with Toshiki Masuda taking over for Hiroki Narimiya. Other changes aside from graphical improvements have yet to be confirmed, but it shouldn’t be too long before we find out.
