The studio known for creating programming-based puzzle games, Zachtronics, has announced that its next game, Last Call BBS, will also be its last game.

Puzzle game developer Zachtronics has announced its last game. Appropriate titled Last Call BBS, the game will be out on PC in July 5, and will come to Steam as well as PC Game Pass.

According to the description for the Last Call BBS trailer, this will be the final game released by the studio. The studio has confirmed this being its last game on Twitter.

Last Call BBS is a collection of smaller puzzle games with an aesthetic quite similar to a previous Zachtronics game—Exapunks. Last Call BBS will come featured with 8 games: 20th Century Food Court, STEED FORCE Hobby Studio, X’BPGH: The Forbidden Path, Sawayama Solitaire, Dungeons & Diagrams, ChipWizard Professional, HACK*MATCH, and Kabufuda Solitaire.

As their names might imply, both Sawayama Solitaire and Kabufuda Solitaire are both set to be unique spins on the traditional single-player card game, with Kabufuda Solitaire being spun off from Zachtronics’ Eliza.

Most of the other games fall in line with Zachtronics’ previous releases, being intensely centered on logic-based puzzle solving, with a hint of programming thrown in.

Eight new games enter the Vault for EA's monthly PC subscription service.

Electronic Arts continues to expand its Origin Access service with some pretty strong titles across various genres. The publisher announced that this month would see Tropico 5, Opus Magnum, Project Highrise, Deponia, Tharsis, Cosmic Star Heroine, Slime-san Superslim Edition, and Sudden Strike 4 entering the Vault. Don’t worry – there are some decent standouts in that bunch.

Tropico 5, for instance, is a decent city-building management title from Haemimont Games (currently working on Surviving Mars). With Tropico 6 coming up, it’s a good way to get into the series. Zachtronics’ Opus Magnum is a puzzle game that focuses on “programming” and discovering multiple solutions for different puzzles. It’s crazy addictive in a good way, though not for the less puzzle-oriented players.

Cosmic Star Heroine is a pretty good turn-based RPG title from Zeboyd Games that’s very underrated. Daedalic’s Deponia is an excellent point and click adventure title with good writing (especially for those who like comedies). Overall, with a growing collection of titles, early access demos, and deals on EA digital content, Origin Access Basic continues to be a good deal at $5 per month and $30 per year.
