Bethesda is working on a new patch for all three platforms, and the one that matters right now, the PS3 version is in desperate need of patching. Some users are reporting the game to be unplayable with frame rate hitting 0 FPS in certain areas.

Now, all this is well reported on our site, as you can check over here. But what is interesting is that, Bethesda has taken so much time to address the issue.

They did release one patch earlier, which didn’t provide a lot of improvements as many people expected.

Bethesda replied on Twitter that they are targeting the lag issue in the upcoming 1.4 patch.

“We’re addressing that in the 1.4 update planned for this month,” they said.

Earlier, a Fallout: New Vegas developer said that these issues were due to PS3’s split RAM pool, so it remains to be seen how Bethesda fixes this issue.

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Earlier we reported why the PS3 version of Skyrim was facing lag issues, you can read about that here.
Earlier we reported why the PS3 version of Skyrim was facing lag issues, you can read about that here. Fallout New Vegas developer had mentioned that it is due to PS3’s divided memory, which is causing the issue.

Pete Hines, community manager of Bethesda Games has mentioned this news is indeed fake and Bethesda has fixed all these issues.

“Josh Sawyer did not work on Skyrim nor this engine and his comments don’t reflect how the current tech works,” he said. “No, it isn’t true. He brings up issues we solved long ago,” he again clarified to a different question.

I think this is pretty much bullshit, as the engine is most probably same and even Fallout 3 and New Vegas had the same issues. Shipping a broken copy deserves no benefit of the doubt.

There are a few workarounds for this lag problem, which involves turning off your PS3 after a few hours of gaming. So there you go…
