Tecmo Koei has reported some very healthy profits in the third quarter of financial year 2012-13, ending December 31st 2012. Net profits have actually gone up a massive 290 per cent.
Revenues of ¥22.2 billion or $238.4m/£151.5m were reported by the firm for the third quarter, increasing 6.5 per cent over the same period last year. However, net profits saw a year on year increase of 291.7 per cent at ¥2.6 billion ($27.9m/£17.7m).
Game software was, of course, the main factor amounting to this huge profit. The division saw a 9.8 per cent year on year increase, reporting revenues of ¥14.6 billion, or $156.8m/£99.6m. Operating income for the division has gone up 83.6 per cent to ¥2.5 billion.
Online and Mobile was the only division that did not see an increasing, declining year over year of 10 per cent to ¥3.8 billion ($40.8m/£25.9m), with operating income dropping by 44.2 per cent to ¥418 million ($4.4m/£2.8m).
