Telltale Games CEO Is Stepping Down, According To Report

Dan Connors stepping back into the role of CEO.

Over the last five years, Telltale Games has had a meteoric rise in prominence, success, and standing in the gaming community- but it sounds like there may be a change in its upper guard coming up soon. According to a report by Kotaku, Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner has announced that he will be stepping down from his position as the company’s head.

Bruner has been the CEO of the company since 2015, and has been involved with it ever since he co-founded it. “Today I am writing to let you know that I’ll be stepping away from my position as CEO of Telltale,” Bruner said in an email to the staff. “We’ve grown aggressively since Telltale’s inception, and now Telltale is bigger than I ever dreamed it would be. There are many possible futures for Telltale, and all of them are exciting and uniquely challenging. The time has come to pass the reins to someone that can better drive Telltale to the next level and realize all the potential that is here.”

Kotaku has received an official statement from Telltale, confirming that Dan Connors will be stepping back into the role of CEO and lead the company on. “Kevin has led Telltale over the past couple of years after he stepped into the CEO role for co-founder Dan Connors in 2015. With Kevin departing, Telltale is fortunate to have Dan here to step back seamlessly into the CEO role,” it says.

Telltale has been hugely successful, having worked on licenses as high profile as The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Minecraft, Batman, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, among other things- hopefully the studio can continue on its path to growth and not miss a beat going forward.
