@TimboJ: I think you missed his point. MK is a “cooler” SF in the sense that it has shock value, an interesting plot, and intriguing characters. I tend to agree. I was actually playing on a SF2 machine the day I noticed/fell in love with MK, which happened to be sitting next to it. This is coming from a guy that played SF2 religiously as a kid. I think a lot of the kids that played SF2 back then switched over to MK once SF2T came out, as it was too fast for casual players. That, or they just liked MK’s presentation.

You’re absolutely correct that SF has always played better than MK, but that’s no secret to any MK fan. As a fan of both MK and SF, I’m thrilled that they finally put a lot of effort into the game play this time around. It will be interesting to see how well the new game performs at EVO.

the spine pull is pretty awesome in the new mortal kombat…it does the old games perfectly.
