Exactly. If console releases are not broken enough already… it’s just opening the floodgates for more 25 fps releases.

I say – just fix the damn game to work in the first place if consoles cannot handle high textures at 1080p then use medium textures at 900p instead!

They are actually admitting the game will sometimes run sub-30fps and you can improve it by turning down some graphics features??

(-Because obviously on console it can only run at a locked 30 to avoid stutter/tearing you can not run at for example 35-40fps without a dynamic refresh rate)

Xbox One is better obviously. 😛

They’re not breaking myths, they’re simply admitting that consoles are not even capable of maintaining 30fps in modern games. We saw this in both Witcher 3 and Fallout 4.

If you ask me, this is a little bit scary. It could open the way for console devs to make unoptimised games and just be like “just turn the graphics down if it bothers you”.

One of the only advantages the console has over the PC is its ‘plug in and play’ nature; no messing around with settings and configurations. This could start a trend that ruins that.
