"I thought I had already said something about that. There is no 2nd GPU, there is no stacked GPU," Penello said on Twitter. Later writing on Reddit, Penello noted that Microsoft's recent Direct X12 announcement might have made the rumor re-appear.

"I didn't think [the second GPU rumor] was festering because I thought I'd already commented on it. For some reason the DX12 announce seemed to make it resurface," he said.

Regarding DX12 specifically, Penello said he's not that completely caught up on the new graphics API just yet, and so he's not sure how it will directly impact Xbox One. Still, he said players can expect advancements to performance over time on Xbox One.

"Microsoft’s Albert Penello has tweeted that there’s no additional GPU on the Xbox One aside from the one integrated on the main SOC. He has also stated that the performance differences between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are greatly overstated!

No add’l dGPU. Working on more tech deep-dives. XBO is plenty capable now and in the future. Perf. differences are greatly overstated."

You do realize from a heat distribution standpoint, having a second layer SOC and a hidden GPU without proper heat syncing and airflow would be a fire hazard, it would cause the chip to overheat and shutdown the system. Look, I own all the systems as gaming is a hobby. I design and build pc's. All the 'proof' that guy, mister x, has, none of itakes sense. I'm not going to press this ant further. I do feel bad for you, and others like you that are eating this up. I hope you aren't too disappointed disappointed when your dream never becomes a reality.

We have 2 professional researchers and an insider for our forum that proves we have been playing the weaker system from launch.
We have x-rays that show we have a 2nd layer under our SOC that is hardware locked still.
Sony need to win to recover and keep Apple out of the console market.
We have agreed its best to give Sony the win and keep the layer locked now under the NDA.

HDMI input is pass through, my receiver has it too. The architecture of the chip is based off Jaguar and code named kryptos. There isn't a second SOC chip on the motherboard. Go look at the Xbox teardown. No chip. Think about that. Also the RAM speeds are slower so the xone has buffer lag. I have both systems and a gaming rig, and by all means the xone is the inferior device. Even if Microsoft could supposedly unlock the other 2 cores dedicated to the operating system, than Sony could too. You forget they both have them locked. The difference is Xbox has a heavier weight operating system that demands more. That's why it has the better RAM supporting the system not games. So in order to unlock said power you'd have to remove your operating system. Your arguements don't look at all the elements involved. Now imagine if the ps4 unlocked it's cores and over clocked. It would still be better. Bottom line is Microsoft spent money on their system to be a multimedia console first and foremost. Sony was a gaming console first and foremost. That's why xones operating system is heavier, that's why it has the HDMI pass through for its dvr and whyb originally the kinnect wan mandatory. They had to take steps backwards to even get the games to run as they do now.

Use your brain mate don't follow fake research teams without any credibility that they really know what they are talking about. I understand you want you purchase to be the best. But if it's the best personally to you that's enough right? There is no need for all the bs unconfirmed crap a lot of fanboys are spewing about the x1 without any proof. Don't follow that road and yes I don't care I laugh at it and love to discuss with delusional fanboys
