I'm not an idiot. Of course I know that Bethesda (used as a blanket for Bethesda Production Studios, Bethesda Softworks, etc...) are part of Zenimax, which, in turn owns any number of different studios and companies).

If you think I haven't checked out the other franchises in Zeni's cadre then you are the douchenozzle.

My point was that, I, personally, do not enjoy 1st person shooters. They are generic and do nothing. Leave them to the big boys and concentrate on what makes you money.

And, yes. 1st person shooters take absolutely no skill whatsoever. I have played any number of them and they take nothing more than a quick finger.

Well, the entire video game industry could decide to do something else and not make games any more. I'd be fine with that too. If they never made another Fallout or Elder Scrolls game, I'd be fine with that too. I wouldn't care if the next one comes in 50 years from now. With that out of the way, I believe most people would agree that 21 years between games in a series is too long. Many people will take up gaming and abandon it in 20 years...I think up to about 10-12 years at most is reasonable between releases. Most people from what I've read, feel that more than 5 or 6 years is unbearable. They have no patience, I do.

Back to the adapting thing. No people don't need to adapt. If a company doesn't make the kind of game you want to play, you don't buy that game. You wait until they make the game you want to play and you buy that. If they never get around to it then you move on to other games by other developers. Period. Are you saying that if the next game that Bethesda makes happens to be something this guy hates...that he should buy it anyway? That would be really dumb and a waste of money.

If the guy wants to be a fan of Bethesda and not the games they produce, he had better learn to adapt. You say "we," when who you really mean is "I." I, myself, buy games not because of who developed or published them, but because of the games themselves. I feel no loyalty whatsoever to these companies. When they stop producing quality entertainment, I will stop supporting them with my dollar. I have played sequels that had close to 21 years between them, and I can tell you emphatically that it was probably better than having a sequel every year, five franchise titles on one game engine. It doesn't matter if 21 years is reasonable to me or not, they will either continue the franchise and make money, or make other games and turn a profit. That's the point of these companies, to turn a profit, not to be reasonable and constantly supply us with entertainment and break even. For Bethesda, they seem to do pretty well about releasing a sequel when it's worthy, who are we to complain it takes too long. Maybe they know better than we do, since they are producing the games in the first place.

Nobody has to adapt. We simply buy the games we want to play and if they release titles we don't like, we skip them. In the meantime, there are a lot of other good games releasing on a regular basis, so we buy and play those. Time passes and eventually what we want to play (ES6 and FO5) does get released. So we play it at that time. It sounds to me like ES6 will release about 2032. That will make it 21 years between numbered entries in the series. Does that sound at all reasonable to you? If that ends up being true, I can guarantee that ES6 will be the final game in the Elder Scrolls series.

I'm sure a multi-billion dollar corporation appreciates your tip, but I have a tip for you. If you are truly a decade long fan of Bethesda you will probably know they aren't just Bethesda any longer, they are Zenimax. Since they were "acquired" it means their focus can no longer be what they want it to be. Bethesda has a boss, but they also have more capital and can grow to work on multiple projects.

If you think releasing Doom and Prey is what is holding up TES6, then you really need to investigate what you are a fan of. There were four years between Morrowind and Oblivion, five years between that and Skyrim with TESO coming out two years after that in 2014. We are closing in on 2017 and with their previous timeline even if it is 2019 before TES6 comes out, it is an improvement in their release schedule. It's nice that you don't play first person shooters, which Fallout isn't because it's an RPG, but your summation that they are boring and take no skill, which is no more skill than a singleplayer RPG requires, probably tells me they won't be hurt by you losing interest.

I can remember when Bethesda was a sports game and film game developer and I adapted to their medieval fantasy move because of how much I liked NCAA on SNES and Terminator. If you are a true fan, you will check out the other franchises they've started working on and quit being an uppity whinebag who has an inflated sense of worth as to give advice to a multi-billion dollar corporation. If you don't adapt, they probably won't notice the least bit.

That's fine, but, tip, Beth. Your other games are not your core. While Doom, Dishonored and Prey may be franchises you've worked on, they are not TES or Fallout. Those are your big sellers and do not have vast fanbases that you can call on.

I am tired of 1st person shooters. They're a dime a dozen and there is only so much you can do with them. Doom is fine - but it's a shooter just like a thousand others. Dishonored is fine, but, again, too stylized and not engaging and Prey, I don't even know what Prey is nor do I care.

I've been with you for more than a decade and 1/2 Beth, but, if you keep delaying things so very, very long, I may have to give up. I won't buy Doom, Dishonored or Prey. Sorry. Just not interested.

I do not play first person games (which is why I love your other franchises because you give us a choice). I don't play shooters (boring and take no skill). Yes, I realize that Fallout is a shooter, but there is more.

Please don't alienate your actual fanbase Beth.

I'll wait, but I'm afraid I'll have to wait too long and I'll lose interest.
