Probably the same thing that happened to ICO and shadow. The game kept changing with a wandering direction. The thing is ICO and shadow turned oit very interesting BUT they didn’t sell well. Chances are Sony lost patience with the dev team and tried to force them into a direction to the guy quit but then fan outcry forced Sony to hire him back but they are stuck with the same issue they had in the first place.

Hopefully the game gets finished but its not looking likely.
