Not really milking, people actually just wanted to be able to play this on the PS4.. It's also good for anyone who hasn't played it on PS3 yet and is willing to buy it on a PS4 and play it for the first time with the updated looks.

Are you saying the in-game will look as good as the cut scene on PS4? That would justify buying the full thing again for me!

This is a bad comparison due to the low-res compressed images being used. Download these high-quality trailers to get a better idea of the improvements. They aren't the same scenes, but hopefully they work well.

PS3 Left Behind intro:
http://www.gamersyde.com/download_the_last_of_us_launch_trailer_en_full_version-31382_en.html

PS4 E3 trailer:
http://www.gamersyde.com/download_the_last_of_us_remastered_e3_trailer-32286_en.html

Long story short, PS3 cutscenes were 720p@30fps, PS4 cutscenes have been re-rendered in 1080p@60fps. As for gameplay, the PS3 version ran at 720p30 with downgraded models, textures, lighting, etc. while the PS4 version runs at 1080p, targets 60fps, uses an improved lighting model, and upgrades all the models/textures/etc. to the higher-fidelity ones originally created for the cutscenes.

didn't know that but it make sense since the cut-scenes were pre-rendered anyway. So gamingbolt are lying to us. lol

it looks the same. It looks cleaner and slightly more detailed probably because of the higher res but everything from lighting to textures are exactly the same.

Terrible comparison shots. You're just showing pre-rendered cinematic cutscenes. Which is why there isn't any difference aside from black levels.

Seriously? The PS3 looks drab and blurry and yet it is "not much of an improvement"? Stop playing 720p games and get a PC (or a PS4 atleast).

These are all from cutscenes. Cutscenes were only re-rendered but in 1080p 60fps. They said this in an interview or something. The main difference will be seen in the actual game while you are playing it. And so far not many have been shown.

Everything shown was from cutscenes. I can tell you first hand that those PS3 screens do not, in any way, represent what it looks like while actually playing it.
