The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s reviews will be coming in later this week, but print media has already started to go and publish its reviews for the title. We already know that EDGE has given the game historic 10/10 score– and now, the German magazine GamePro has shared its score for the game too. And it is almost unprecedented for them as well.
Breath of the Wild has scored a 94 from GamePro, which is the second highest score they have awarded to any game to date, and the highest score they have awarded so far this generation. Breath of the Wild is rated higher by this magazine than Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Bloodborne, and Grand Theft Auto 5. It is also rated higher than its own predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
So what is this one game that scored higher than a 94? It was Grand Theft Auto 4, back in 2008, that managed to score a 95. That’s it- only that one game ever has scored more than Breath of the Wild. I think that Nintendo may have created something very special here indeed. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches later this week on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
