The Legend of Zelda Will Have 90 Minutes of New Footage at E3

That's a lot of footage for a game we have seen less than 2 minutes of so far.

Nintendo’s E3 plans this year are a bit baffling, as they don’t even plan to have the Nintendo Direct presentations they have had at E3 over the last few years (themselves a step down from their massive live stage shows that they used to do). Instead, they plan on just debuting, and showing off, the eagerly awaited The Legend of Zelda at E3. Just showing off that one game, and that’s it.

The good news is, they’re at least not going to hold back on showing that one game off. The Legend of Zelda was originally announced in January 2013, and since then, we haven’t actually seen a lot of it- less than two minutes’ worth of footage on the game exists. Happily, at E3 this year, that changes, and we will see an enormous 90 minutes of the game.

Nintendo have asked members of the press to set aside 90 minutes of time to see both the extended demos of the game that Nintendo have on hand- we assume that these 90 minutes should be enough for Nintendo to show off the game’s gorgeous open world, as well as any other changes that they may have made.

The Legend of Zelda is due out in 2017 on the Wii U and Nintendo NX. Only the Wii U version will be on display at E3, because Nintendo have confirmed that the NX is skipping E3 this year, in spite of a March 2017 global launch.
