It would appear the UK has a little more than a mild obsession with Zelda. According to Nintendo, in the wake of the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Wii U sales rose by upwards of 685%.
This couldn’t have happened at a better time for Nintendo. The Wii U has boasted a poor sales showing for the past nine months, which, according to Nintendo, is likely due to a lack of awareness and major games. With the trend of HD re-releases on the rise, Nintendo may have some good fortune headed their way. They contain within their gaming catalogue some of the most beloved titles of all time. Fans would surely love to see them remastered in stunning HD.
In tune with the The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD release is a reduction in price of the entire console, which Nintendo hopes will improve their numbers for Q4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD can be purchased with a reduced price Wii U as part of a bundle.
