I dug the story, and the characters, and the meta-narrative of the main quest in Dragon Age, but to be honest, much of the gameplay bored me to tears. The Witcher was simply more fun to me, even if it may have been a bit too long. Still, Geralt is a total and complete badass, and sometimes I enjoy watching a fleshed out character (like the Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead main characters) rather than a script choice.

And The Witcher's story choices are very similar to Dragon Age's, but I think the Witcher pulls off the dangerous element of those choices better than Dragon Age.

Interesting article. I've always liked the immersion you get from moral choices in games, but the polarity of some of them is frustrating. It was nice that the Witcher lost the good and bad points, but it seemed dissapointing as a game in general. I'd have to say I think Dragon Age is a game that has more recently handled the moral choice system in a mature way. Any thoughts?
