I agree that the "surge protector" is probably causing the issue. You spend all the money for updating to the latest and great device, and you use a prop from "that 70's show" The power supply has to get enough stable power to power the unit. With that type of master power commander type surge protector, the line noise and voltage spikes are horrible. I bet this guy certifies himself as a techie as well. Plug your brain into something and take yourself out of the gene pool.

i wonder why didnt he have any video cables plugged in.

I have an old 4 yr xbox...power brick looks beat up and it does this. I just unplug it from th wall and unplug it from the 360 itself and it works afterwards. Then if I move it a certain way it goes back to red. It may be a shortage or fuse problem

Doesn't shock me at all. Instead of making it smaller, why not think outside the "box" (sorry) and make it better. Who cares if it's smaller, this goes for the ps3 as well.
Why do you people spend more money on smaller machines when they have the same thing in a bigger case??? When the ps2 came out with the slim a friend of mine actually traded his full sized ps2 plus additional money for it. Maybe I'm not supposed to understand it. And if you are going to design it smaller make a hand-held 360? Maybe partner up with some g.p.s. software and a few other flashy bells and whistles to really grab the consumers eye.
But then again, why go to all the trouble when people will gladly pay to have two of the same console hooked up to their t'v''s. Come on Microsoft, The X-Box 360 is a fun machine to play (when it isn't being replaced more often then the oil in my car.) Why can't we focus on a more stable setup?

Although I have nothing published I have written articles at the university level for 3 years now. I'm an avid gamer with a high opinion, if you need a writer, you could take a chance here. Or let my irrelevant experience keep you from making a good decision. I have a passion for writing and coincidentally for gaming as well. The choice is yours, but as they say, "Men make decisions based on chance. A decision is always a gamble." By the way, nobody said that, I made it up, but it seems fitting. Hope to hear from you.
