Q-Games’ upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, The Tomorrow Children, will indeed be running 1080p, the developer confirmed on Twitter.
This confirmation came in response to some criticism the game’s graphics were getting after a recent stream online.
‘At 1080p with no compression artifacts, [The Tomorrow Children] will blow their minds! Those streams were 720p too,’ the game’s developer, Dylan Cuthbert, said.
The Tomorrow Children is the newest game coming to us from the developer of the PixelJunk series, and its central conceit sees the player crafting buildings and weapons in an alternate history, in a 1960s Soviet era-influenced world. It’s highly stylized, and seems to bear that unmistakeable hallmark of identity that all of this developer’s games do.
It will be one of many games on the PS4 that will be hitting 1080p; unlike games on competing consoles Xbox One or Wii U, PS4 games routinely hit 1080p in resolution, so it’s good to see The Tomorrow Children will be continuing in that vein.
