There Will Be A Lot Of Sidequests In The Legend of Zelda Wii U

You won't run out of things to do.

Whereas the reception for The Legend of Zelda Wii U so far has been amazingly positive, ever since its initial unveiling at E3 last June, there have been some users who have raised doubts about whether the much touted open world in the game will actually have much to do. There are reasons for these doubts- Zelda has been known to have massive, but empty overworlds before in the past (something that was most acutely aware in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess), and the only extensive look at Zelda Wii U’s world we got at The Game Awards, the world looked gorgeous, but empty.

However, Nintendo’s legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto has spoken out, assuring everyone that the game will have an immense amount of sidequests, and that players will never be left wanting for things to do.

“There may even be times when you forget what your goal is because you’re doing other things on the side… What we’re trying to do is design it in a way that you don’t necessarily have to sit down and play it for a super long time, but kind of more matched to today’s lifestyle where you can think for a little bit and say ‘oh, I just wanna play for a little bit today’ and do this one thing, and get that done and then take a break.’”

That sounds good to me. But seriously, guys, show, don’t tell. You’re doing everything right with this game so far, don’t mess it up.
