"This particular level called Green Hill Zone has become synonymous with everything Sonic, and everything that Sega and their awesome, fast-paced platforming franchise used to represent back in the day. All Sonic fans have wanted a true to the heart, 3D rendition of the series that is as good as the name warrants it to be, and we've all come to see Green Hill Zone as that bench mark. This 3D recreation of the iconic level gives you an idea of what the very first Sonic level ever would look like today, in widescreen format with proper, updated visuals."

That level is Mushroom Hill Zone. It says right there on the video. It is the first level from Sonic and Knuckles, which was basically Sonic 4. You might want to correct that.
Regardless, yeah it looks beautiful and yeah, we all totally want it. Too bad most publishers these days have no intention of giving us what we want. Mainly it's an issue with patents and out-of-touch big corps that don't see the money in niche markets such as nostalgia.

Besides the Sonic one the others fell flat to me. The Dead Space image doesn't look anything as good as Dead Space 3 does, why bother. The recreation of the first Marine level in AVP looked pretty nice, better than the new Colonial Marines we got (disappointing sadly). But even still, you couldn't make an entire game with those effects, not on the PS3 at least. Same with Skyrim. These are nice videos of small snippet games, but there technology isn't there to make it real.

Thanks for the article though that was fun to check out.
