This Is What Themes Look Like on The 3DS

They look so pretty.

So Nintendo released the newest firmware for the 3DS, which redid the UI for the system and added a whole slew of features to the system, yesterday. But among the biggest and most front facing of these new additions was the addition of themes to the system, which, after nearly four years since the system originally launched, allows users a degree of customization over how their home screen and menu looks.

If you haven’t yet downloaded the update and were curious as to how it looks, well, here’s a video, courtesy of our friends at GameXplain, showing you what themes look like in action, and where you can modify the layout of your home screen (it’s actually pretty intuitive, and you don’t have to muck around in a settings menu to do it). Apart from the five color themes that come built in with the update, you can also buy game based themes, including one gorgeous one for Zelda that is extremely hard to resist, from the Theme Shop section of the eShop.
