Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD lacks splitscreen

Can you hear that? It’s that sound of my childhood memories being crushed into a fine dust then blown into my eyes. In what’s now the sign of the times, Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD will not feature one of the best features of gaming gone-bye, split-screen multiplayer.

CEO of Robomodo Josh Tsui revealed to PSU that split-screen was no longer going to feature:

“That was a tough decision for the team. Given the limited scope of the game we had to make some choices on what goes into game. Split screen was talked about heavily but in the end we had to really look at the way people play nowadays which is more online. Having both split screen and online would have sacrificed a lot of time and quality to work in the amount of time that we had.”

Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD comes out on Xbox 360 on 18th July, with a PlayStation 3 and PC release date to be confirmed.
